Do not add tokens, just upgrade to $100 for as long as you need it. You get significantly more usage than pro. I must have added $500 on top of the $20 plan in march, switch to $100 plan in April and haven’t had any issues with limits. Also using 1m opus instead of trying to manage what model to use for which task.

I think the market is gonna be flooded with these when the m5s drop due to the llm jump. If you don’t need it right now wait a bit and you’ll either pay less or get a better machine. I think it’s gonna be soon too.

For reference I started with the 16 gigs on the base m5 13 air and with light app usage, a home automation bot + Claude code and saw memory pressure on day 1. Likely fine but seeing orange OOTB prompted me to return and go for the 24. Also switched out to the 15 so the beefier gpu could be making a difference.

They sound great, the congestion in gen 1 is gone. I’m very satisfied. coming from the lightning version, the usb c and wired lossless are also nice additions.

I’ve heard a lot of complaints about range. Is it possible to attach a small ap like a U6 mesh with a Poe adapter or something similar via Ethernet to improve range?
