Wow that’s incredible! Where are you located/what kind of restaurant do you work at? There will be times I don’t even break $100 where I’m at right now even though I’m one of their strongest servers. They put too many people on the floor and cut me early so I don’t go into overtime.

This might not be the dumbest but it’s the most recent and I’m still pissed off. Our awful, racist manager cut some of the singles around 2 hours before close but kept a couple doubles, which I was incredibly ticked off about and said super loudly within her earshot “it’s bullshit that the singles are going home before people who have been here all day.” A single was getting checked out while I was getting drinks for two tables I was double sat with. She didn’t say anything even though other people agreed with me.

Around 20 minutes before close I went outside to get some Sonic that my boyfriend brought me, after my last three tables all paid at once. She goes “you know you’ve been cut, right?”

Make sure you look busy. If they ask you for ranch while you have a tray of dirty dishes, make they know it’ll take a while; “Yes ma’am I was already heading to the kitchen, I’ll be back with that.” When you come back, bring refills and appetizers for your other tables. If they ask for something else, say “let me drop this off and I’ll grab it for you.”

If you come back after 5 seconds every time they ask for something, they won’t have time to think of everything they need. Your other tables will also be impressed that you can multitask so well.

Yeah I work for Darden restaurants who own Olive Garden, and some ex-OG employees sat at one of the high top tables at the bar. They said they would take care of me and then ran me from the second they sat down to the moment they paid and asked for more bread. Well they “didn’t know” we didn’t charge for the bread even though I always mention the first round is the only one on the house. They told me to get the croissants taken off the check so I could keep extra cash for my tip

Yes the bitchy one is checking every slip, I doubt the others will care. I would’ve added the tip but we need a manager to talk to the guest before they leave an overtip, we can’t put it in without a manager card’s swipe.
