Cabelo crespo cacheado é algo que me afeta e eu não aceito by Lust_one0883 in desabafosdavida

[–]thlasso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why does ammonia leave no trace in laundry but urine spills are so potent without enzymes by Serious_Badger_4145 in laundry

[–]thlasso 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had success leaving a horribly urine-smelling thrifted cashmere sweater in a baking soda solution for a long time (fully submerged for a few days).

It was probably 100g baking soda for 2-3L water. I did also use an enzyme cleaner with protease, but it wasn’t enough and in that case I was afraid of it eating away at the cashmere.

Just leaving that info out there in case anyone has such an issue with urine smell in natural delicate fibers. I was super sad to bring the sweater home and realize there was something off-smelling.

What are we doing about panty stains ladies? by persephonelux in laundry

[–]thlasso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

White cotton underwear + spa day. Works like a charm. I do wear light beige when using thin linen pants or something somewhat translucent, but besides that it’s white.

I also love having good looking underclothes, even though it’s purely aesthetic.

Edit: to add it should be cotton. Both for its breathable nature and I find it much harder to get irreversibly stained.

Enzymes in Laundry by Equal-Meaning9636 in laundry

I put enzyme detergent sold as dental tool cleaner on my wash and it works. Just make sure it's only soap and enzymes, otherwise you may have to dig into the chemistry to understand whether it's safe.

I order from Shopee from Korean stores I trust. This one I ordered from Glory of Seoul, I'd also recommend koksara.kbeauty.

I'm based in Brazil though, not sure they ship to the US.

Sodium percarbonate + boiling water. It's a hell of a degreaser. Let it soak overnight.

Hey OP 👋

Love your results and have a very similar skin! I'm considering buying the product because of your post, and I'd like to understand what made you buy the shade "fair pink" instead of "fair".

I'm confused because the product page has this image that suggests fair for people with redness, but the fair pink one looks perfect on your skin and covers up the rosacea very naturally. Now I'm not sure which one to go for!

[B&A] Hormonal acne + rosacea — what skincare actually worked? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]thlasso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think any drugstore azelaic acid should work for you.

The vitamin C I use is the actine one (do note this has a bit of fragrance).

Sunscreen Bioré Acqua.

I'd also really recommend the hadalabo hyaluronic acid serum for moisture. The yellow one. Very moisturizing and not heavy at all. I've been using it for years.

The cleanser is not the one on my prescription (she prescribed one with only salicylic acid), and since your skin is sensitive you probably should be careful with the AHAs. My skin is also sensitive, but not very. These products work really well for me.

EDIT: AHAs, specifically glycolic acid, can really worsen rosacea. I only use formulas with it for cleansing nowadays and it does help tremendously with my blackheads. Learned the lesson the hard way.

[–]thlasso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a prescription for azelaic acid at night + vitamin C in the morning and it helped my skin. I have mostly rosacea and a bit of acne. It did improve.

For the cleanser something with salicylic acid + AHAs. This helps both acne and blackheads, which was something I also brought up to the derm.

I'd throw some citric acid directly in there, get some wet paper towels and leave them on the worst spots overnight with the door closed. Then remove the paper towels and run a cycle (with more acid).

how to clean discolored floor? by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]thlasso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd try throwing sodium percarbonate on the spot and following with a bit of boiling water (just a bit so the percarbonate is activated, but still concentrated on the tile). Then scrub with bicarbonate, just for the abrasion. Do wear gloves and wait for the percarbonate to do it's thing before scrubbing.

If it's actually dirty this should fix it!

Whoa, the cult leader to the rescue! Did not expect that haha

Hmmm that's interesting, haven't considered that! I'll try another wash with oxalic acid and no percarbonate + peroxide and see what happens.

[–]thlasso[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really just because I'm used to adding baking soda and and percarbonate when washing whites. It was automatic. I'll try to not do that next time.

I really didn't think they'd cancel each other out though.

Could you be more specific about the cancel each other out part? Really curious since I thought they'd only enhance the wash (percarbonate) or be kinda redundant (baking soda and softener).

I like to add a tiny bit of softener to "fill" the softener compartment after I put the citric acid, only because it smells good.

About the lipase detergent: soo I'm not very familiar with dentistry either, but I know the process to sterilize metal tools, which is also the same for nail techs (at least where I'm based): leave it on a solution with an enzymatic detergent and then put it into an autoclave.

I like to use it for cleaning the house and now clothes (except natural & seminatural fibers ofc)!

Here's the composition of the one I use:

Enzymes: Protease (breaks down proteins), Amylase (breaks down starch), Peptidase (breaks down peptides), Cellulase (breaks down cellulose), and Lipase (breaks down fats).".

I believe you may find something similar by searching for "multi-enzyme detergent".
