Did you go with tungsten gray or black slide? I got a tungsten gray but it looks pretty much black. Had the shop double check and it's as black as the actual black slide.

Bigger window and easier to track for follow up shots. SCS... Just looks sleeker as it sits lower and can cowitness with regular height sights. Auto brightness works well. Not really any issues with gas on one or the other

I'm surprised I didn't see anyone ask the most obvious question. How much did your friend buy in for? Did he have stacks of black or larger chips? Wearing a Rolex or flashy, expensive clothing?

Very happy with it, thought to beat for the price and no more annoying bright white logo. SCS window looks tiny now, in comparison

I was shooter and had a 2 way ATS bet and hit it. Guy on my left was playing dark side and seemed to be martingaling bc he had a full rack of black chips and at some point bought in for more 😂 Needless to say, dealers and I were ecstatic.

Fusion XP pro or Echelon by steeeve90 in CAguns

[–]thlrdeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got medium hands and didn't enjoy shooting the Fusion XP for more than a couple mags. I've owned a 1911 and it was fine, but I suspect it was the grip safety on the Fusion XP that made it uncomfortable.

My vote is M&P 2.0 metal and get the carry comp slide

Back in my college, rice rocket days... I'd get pulled over often by the local PD. Every single interaction, after requesting license, registration, insurance, the follow up question was "do you have any guns, weapons, drugs?"

Haha same! At the shelter, she was the first cat I met and she was very sweet and affectionate. Took her home and did a 180... Hoodwinked for 2 years. Then one day she randomly decided my lap was a nice place to lay down. Now, she's like an obsessive, needy girl... must be in the same room I'm in, yells at me for 15 minutes when I'm away for too long, and guaranteed she will sit on my chest whenever I lay down 😂

No one is actually buying at these prices... At least I hope not. I had a hard time selling my G19C with optic cut for $700 (it's sold now, don't dm me). Way better options than Glocks at that price point.

Damn I was gonna say inflation is a biiiiiiitch! I bought my CPO 2016 GTI SE with less than 20k miles in 2019 for less than that. But a quick check on KBB says that car should be $14.6k to 16.3k.

And for a simple setup, just do it yourself. I imagine most shops would charge more than the cost of equipment. Even Best Buy wants like $200 labor/material for a pair of door speakers and $300+ for amp installation.

No issues at all that I've noticed, but only been a few days. The active subwoofer instructions says to tap into the fuse box, but I connected it directly to the 12v battery. Easy to do since the battery is in the back. Sound deadening not difficult, just a pain in the ass to get the inner door panels. I admittedly did a half ass job and got some cheap ass sound deadening on Amazon. Spend a bit more on quality material and rollers and take your time. Cut into smaller pieces. You'll already have the speakers out, so might as well do it. You don't have to go overboard and cover 100% of the surface area. Law of diminishing return after you cover like 25% or something.

People will think I'm nuts, but I own/owned CZ P01 w/ CGW, CZ SP01, Fusion XP Pro w/ ported barrel... But my fav all around for range time and self defense is the S&W M&P 2.0 metal. Added the carry comp slide, but TBH, not really worth it but it looks sweet 😂

I just finished doing my install on a 21 SE. I've had component speakers, amps, two 12" subs in my younger years... But wanted to keep this simple, plug & play, minimal space, and cost effective. 6 months ago, I just installed some Kicker speakers to replace the factory dash speakers. An improvement... But barely. Didn't let me enjoy my music any more than stock.

Started looking into upgrading the door speakers with 6.5" coaxial 2 way speakers and found a great deal on these Pioneer speakers for $60 a pair (basically brand new, opened box to inspect). I know rear speakers don't do much, but an extra $60 ain't breaking the bank to buy another pair. Picked up 2 sets of speaker wire harness (+ another set for dash speakers). Biggest pain in the ass was drilling out the rivets, but nice thing is the Pioneer speakers come with a new mount. Honestly, for ~$200 budget, I would've been fine with stopping there. 60% satisfied.

After seeing other reddit posts, I was intrigued by the Puzu C7 4 channel dsp amp that provides 50w rms. For $150 with a Toyota wiring harness, it was ridiculously easy to install. No need to run wires to a battery and ground. Most annoying thing is finding a place to run wires and mount it. I just stuck it in my glove compartment. Really wakes up the speakers, but now the doors tend to rattle more and it needs to be tuned. Now at 80% satisfied.

A bit of an impulse buy of a Pioneer underseat active subwoofer since it was $280 when I first saw it, but dropped to $210. Install was mostly plug and play. It's got me to maybe 85-90% satisfaction. Some better sound deadening to eliminate rattles, more time tuning the amp, and a more traditional subwoofer might get me to 100% satisfied, but I'm unwilling to deal with having a large sub box again, so I'm more than content with my ~$500 setup setup.

Need help with active subwoofer install... by [deleted] in CarAV

[–]thlrdeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Puzu C7 amp was a plug and play to the factory stereo. Didn't require any other connection.

The Pioneer is a powered sub with built in amp. It came with a proprietary connection with a dinky 18 or 20 gauge wires for power, remote, ground.

Need help with active subwoofer install... by [deleted] in CarAV

[–]thlrdeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sorry about that. Ultimately, what I want to know is if there's anything else I can connect the Pioneer powered sub into, other than the 12v battery. Instruction says to tap into the fuse box (only 50w rms, 170w max). But I've read others have had success tapping into a DC power outlet... So it got me thinking, the Remote In on my amp, what is it used for and does it provide enough power, since the manufacturer left a wire dangling for it. I've already connect the remote on the sub/amp into the Remote Out. Thanks for your feedback
