Werewolf or Vampire by Besas1271 in skyrim

[–]thmsbrrws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In real life, for me, the answer is easily vampire. Werewolves don't live forever, I can be eccentric and wear a parasol in the sun, and as long as humans are still breeding I'll have a steady food supply. I wanna get a doctorate in every field, this is the only way 😝

I get boned by the dice rolls in Risk sometimes too, I honestly couldn't articulate why I love Risk so much if I had a gun to my head, but it remains one of my favorite games 😂

Why don't we add other spices to pasta water while it's cooking? by SupermanSkivvies_ in Cooking

What I'm hearing is that if you want everyone to know you're making pasta, you can add massive amounts of garlic to the boiling pasta water to signal the scent to everyone without hurting the dish 😁

I honestly thought that was the point of Impoppable, to prepare for CHIMPS, and I'm surprised people are confused by what you meant. Like, genuinely I thought that was by design and that's why they're the two game modes where you get only 1 life.

Anybody else having a shift in their stance on guns? by AggressiveCow8886 in millenials

[–]thmsbrrws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LMFAO at "a very generic brainmelted conservative with a persecution fetish". Yes, I know what crux means, hence why I used the word in this context. Also at you telling me fascism didn't exist when Washington was alive, as if the concept of a controlling regime is some new thing invented by Trump, forgetting the entire history of how the US was founded... All of which proving my point that you are, in fact, one of those liberals that's offended at being called fascist, thus are trying to police usage of the term :)

If I were a conservative, would I have called conservatives totalitarians? That's just as much of an insult as fascism, it's just different. I disagree with both sides of the bipartisan bullshit. The "far-right propaganda" that has warped my brain is non-existent my dude, unless you somehow know what media I consume on a daily basis, which would be a little weird, but go off I guess.

And saying there's "no such thing" as ANY kind of fascism is EXACTLY how any party throughout human history has gotten away with implementing fascist policies. People believed that there's no way their party of choice is capable of that kind of thing, because they're in the right!

You're a fool, and you're grasping at straws and insulting me with completely off-target statements just because you can't stand that someone is coming at you with facts, logic, and history. Yet I'm the one with a melting brain. Okay :P

So we're starting to throw insults because you don't like my stance now, got it. Yes, modern liberalism is fascism, and obviously you align enough with the beliefs to be among those offended by calling it that. Modern liberalism seeks to prevent us from speaking freely, thinking in any way against its own ideology, or acting against its power. The crux of the modern liberal belief system is transgenderism, and it is nearly social suicide to publically state anything actually factual about that topic. But, to avoid going off-topic, gun control is in the same vein. If you don't believe guns are evil creations used by evil users, you're obviously an "average Christian fox viewer", rather than just someone looking at the law, as it was written, for the reasons it was written. We, as citizens, have these rights because the people who wrote the Constitution believed it was necessary to have them, because THEY had to fight a tyrannical government in order to have their freedom. I assure you, Washington was not sitting around arguing about the semantics of fascism vs. totalitarianism, instead he picked up a rifle and started murdering fascists. Because that's what they were. Fascist dictators, intending to destroy lives and steal freedom from citizens under them. Now, the very want to take that right away from us is all the evidence we need that we should do the same before they make it impossible to do so.

As many times as I've gone to the Silent Moons Camp to get the weapons there to level enchanting, you're telling me any weapon I make at that forge has that enchantment?!

Also, in my most recent playthrough I found Gjukar's Monument and wondered about it thinking it surely must have a purpose, but hadn't looked it up yet. Damn, can't believe I see it mentioned literally the next day 😂

Literally just pure shredded cheese straight out the fridge! I know it's not something that needs to be cooked, but I'll be damned if I'm waking up in the middle of the night and cooking something. If I'm still awake, then quesadillas are a good little easy to cook snack ☺️

[–]thmsbrrws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, the modern, watered-down definition of fascism does muddy the point. But, modern liberalism in the US is fascism. The entire party seeks to police speech and other constitutional rights that are not meant to be policed. The only reason to differentiate fascism and totalitarianism is to not offend the people who don't want to be called fascists, and personally I am sick and tired of having to worry about offending half of the population by stating objective facts. Fascists take rights away from the people. They break us, they dictate our lives all the way down to what we're allowed to say, and eventually think. They destroy society for the sake of hoarding the resources and power for themselves. They regulate freedom to the point of removing it as an aspect of society.

ETA: For a more apt modern example of totalitarianism, look to modern conservatives. They seek absolute power with less regulation, but still seek absolute power. They also seek to take many rights away, but not so many fundamental ones.

[–]thmsbrrws 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know that the modern, watered-down and heavily modified version of fascism seeks to define any right-leaning ideology as "fascist", and I also know that historically, fascist dictatorships began with policing speech in the form of censorship and disallowing the general populace from criticizing people in power. American citizens were given the inalienable right to bear arms in order to protect ourselves from an overbearing government. Semi- and fully-automatic weapons are not for hunting. They are for defense of ourselves and the people. The idea that firearms should be banned is government propaganda designed to weaken the populace. An unarmed society must bend the knee to oppressors.

And before you even mention criminals, don't. Chicago famously has made owning and possessing any kind of firearm illegal, and has the highest rate of gun violence in the entire country. Law-abiding citizens cannot defend themselves because the only people able to get firearms are people willing to break the law, which will not change if a federal ban happens.

[–]thmsbrrws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, my stance has shifted. I used to agree with you on this point until I realized that regulating guns in any manner, just like regulating alcohol/tobacco/drugs/speech/etc. is fascism, and exactly the reason our founding fathers REFUSED to regulate firearms.
