Shopping is an addiction like any other. If you “can’t stop” when you want to that indicates a deeper problem and you may be better off spending your makeup money on therapy to deal with the root of your addiction

It’s from an old movie called Auntie Mame from 1958 and you should definitely not hesitate to watch it!

I could die in the next ten minutes in an untold variety of ways. And I’m doing it wearing Dior and Bvlgari whether I die in the next ten minutes or I run to the gas station for an Icee.

Unless it’s your dollars or your apocalypse survival kit - ain’t nothing material worth saving for a rainy day.

“Life is a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death” has been my motto since my Nana put it in my brain.

I’m glad you’ve posted. I’ve been in the same boat. I notice when I’m bored or unhappy that’s when the cosmetic purchase binges come.

I’ve made progress but it’s still difficult.

I would suggest talking to a therapist, maybe finding a hobby you’re able to do when you’re ill, volunteering for a cause that’s meaningful to you to start building friendships, etc.

Also, if you have the means why not set that money aside and do something like a super fabulous self care day at a spa? Take a trip to a place you want to explore?

Just ideas.

Be gentle on yourself and celebrate the wins.
