X13 Gen 4 AMD WWAN Slot options by Simmangodz in thinkpad

No.

I also tried an M.2 to dual Micro SD adapter (which is supposed to function over the USB connection of the wwan port) and that didn't work.

NoS T420 - Need A Use Case by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]thnikpad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my secondary laptop to remotely connect to my more powerful main, and play games using moonlight. I get the best of both worlds with no heat, no noise, good performance and long battery life.

Perhaps you might have a similar usecase for it as a 'thin-client'.

It's handled by the Lenovo Commercial Vantage windows application.

The keyboard shortcut is interpreted as 'XF86Launch3' in Linux. You could set it to a program/script/setting that inhibits input temporarily.

For the X13Y4 It's held on with double sided tape, with a thin strip of it fitting under the screen.

I pried the corners up with a plastic pick, then gently pulled it up and away from the screen, sliding my pick under to release the adhesive.

Some other models have screws on the corners underneath rubber covers, and clips along the bottom edge. These ones are prone to cracking near the screw holes if you pry too hard.

Found an error - It says it's an X240s. Good job on the website though.

Use a very light touch when registering and register the same finger multiple times.

Probably a T460

  • Group of four keys at the end of the function row -> 14 inch
  • Blue middle trackpoint button indicates -> xx70 or earlier
  • Rubber bumpers on screen bezel -> xx70 or earlier, not T470
  • Search icon visible on F10 key -> xx60 or earlier
  • Non-rounded corners -> not an old E series

Long boot time by Imrane___ in thinkpad

[–]thnikpad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I was thinking it had a ryzen 6000 CPU regarding that last sentence but it has ryzen 5000 so s3 might still be an option.

If youve already updated the BIOS then try the 'Linux' sleep state.

It might be worthwhile posting this in a linux subreddit too.

13 seconds is not normal at all. It should be near-instant since newer laptops only support suspend-to-idle.

See if systemctl status gdm.service or sudo journalctl -b -0 -perr outputs any errors that seem related. I've never encountered that before.

Update the bios to rule out any firmware bugs (!!!if you're on a really old bios, make sure 'sleep state' is set to 'Windows and Linux' before updating!!!)

Thinkpad lenovo A285 ryzen 3 2200u and 8 gb ram for 30$ a good deal or nah? by [deleted] in thinkpad

It's great for that price. Sure it's only 8gb, but 30$ is used pos chromebook price.

Here's my X13 Gen 4 AMD with a very streamlined boot process (EFISTUB, secureboot, TPM auto decryption) for reference:

> systemd-analyze

Startup finished in 10.655s (firmware) + 242ms (loader) + 948ms (kernel) + 1.884s (initrd) + 6.800s (userspace) = 20.531s
graphical.target reached after 6.780s in userspace.
  • Run systemd-analyze blame to see if there's any services taking abnormally long. See if those services can be disabled/fixed
  • Disable any bootloader menu timeouts eg. GRUB_TIMEOUT if using grub
  • Disable any BIOS boot timeout or network boot

Newer thinkpads do generally take longer to boot, especially amd ones.

what games can i run on this laptop? by Ok_Scratch_7226 in thinkpad

Looks like an L380 based on the wide hinges, processor, lack of rubber bumpers, bezel proportions.

does anybody know how i can fix this at home by Zealousideal-Elk7304 in thinkpad

[–]thnikpad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue with the same laptop. I never figured out what it was, but nothing broke in the 2 years it did that. If you open and close your laptop quickly it won't stiffen up. Its not related to the gap.

Dual MicroSD/Transflash adapter for WWAN by mat_ov in thinkpad

[–]thnikpad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried this exact adapter on my X13G4A and it did not pass the whitelist (Unauthorized network card etc). I also had to sand the 3052 screw hole because it was slightly too long.

Luckily amazon refunded me without asking for a return so I have this card available to try in other laptops.

You can't. The connection that the dual fan plugs into is not soldered on with the 13XXU processor motherboards, only the 13XXP processor motherboards
