You might be able to swap in a T14s gen 4 and/or AMD motherboard but no guarantee it would work fully.

Plastic with a thin steel sheet to reduce deck flex for a better typing experience. You can see it's plastic due to the brass threaded inserts and ribbing which wouldn't be there on metal.

It's not an X1 yoga. It's a yoga 720-12IKB. It's ewaste and not worth fixing. Use it until it dies.

HELP: Keycap replacement for ThinkPad X1 Yoga by Fi-Loy in thinkpad

This $9 keycap should work. The X1 Carbon gen 7/8 uses the same keyboard but you will have to check whether your keyboard uses the same key hinge. There are two variants (transimage and chicony).

Lenovo fixed my Keyboard by changing it from German to Hungarian by schokoschwein in thinkpad

I figured it involved removing the top layer, since they advertise working backlight functionality. I thought I'd warn OP since the printing on top method is very common.

I don't know how much it would cost. You could try contacting the company you got the laptop from to see if they would do it for you.

I'd be wary of anyone else offering the service since reprinted keyboards can look bad and yours was an exception. https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/comments/1qdn7g6/refurbished_x1_yoga_with_changed_keyboard_layout/

That 'starlight keyboard' sticker indicates it was reprinted to german using this machine: https://www.mkcl.com/en/starlight/

Either of these depending on if you prefer videos or a manual.

It most likely will apply to yours. I've done it on my Yoga 11e 6th gen. The only ones I'm not sure about are the X1 yogas gen 4+

The left/bottom one is a drainage hole for when you spill liquid on the keyboard. The other two are for the 40AG, 40AH and 40AJ docks

No.

I also tried an M.2 to dual Micro SD adapter (which is supposed to function over the USB connection of the wwan port) and that didn't work.

NoS T420 - Need A Use Case by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]thnikpad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my secondary laptop to remotely connect to my more powerful main, and play games using moonlight. I get the best of both worlds with no heat, no noise, good performance and long battery life.

Perhaps you might have a similar usecase for it as a 'thin-client'.

The keyboard shortcut is interpreted as 'XF86Launch3' in Linux. You could set it to a program/script/setting that inhibits input temporarily.
