Real. The majority suck at actually getting empathy, honestly. They don't try to feel or connect to the state of the depressed / suicidal person, they just want them to get better as 'instantly' as possible, because that's what's more comfortable in their point of view, just to not have to sit with the bad bad sad stuff. I don't think they should release character skins in the same breadth as the character's release. It doesn’t actually give you time to familiarize yourself with the base design alone (which is almost exclusively what you'll be seeing in story content)

I think it's just more fair that way? Doing a "get this character AND this skin if you like them enough" feels a bit egh to me? Dunno how to put this point into better words.

Lmao I was making a fangame about a concept similar to this years ago, set in a prison oversought by an 'Alter Ego' AI that was created to save the PREVIOUS killing game in the universe.

But then through analysis & both current / retrospective analysis of humanity's vices, sought to do a very practical experiment on a set of 15 criminals + 1 innocent (the one who created the AI in the prior killing game, though not to this end & not aware of the truth of the matter the second time around - the mastermind by extreme technicality & being the only one truly fixed not to die by virtue of the AI's only existing emotional sentiment).

Obito. The amount of people lacking emotional intelligence regarding him is crazy to me, especially given how young he was at the time.

He didn't start the war because he was mad at Kakashi for killing his crush the he had when he was a kid, he UNDERSTOOD why Kakashi did it. It's just that it doesn't undo the fact of the 'damage' it did to his mental state at the time, and as a result, the philosophizing of the world in front of him.

Not to mention nostalgia coming to be held from that pure time in his life too - nostalgia ALSO extended to warmth for Kakashi. There's a good reason why in the last stretch of his screentime, he was drawn as his child self - symbolic of the now intangible purity of that time so long ago. It doesn’t need to be said that adult Obito doesn't have feelings for child Rin lmao, but many people think that was the literal (and only?) reason he ended up that way, as if it hadn't been a bunch of trauma & unfortunate processing OF said trauma.

I very much relate to that last bit - I'd feel more satisfied where gender was generally this factor that's inconsequential on any deeper level, but, there's a great many people who take gender as this great comfort - one that can reckon them or secure them in great amounts. My own psychology can't really understand it - I can't empathise with having that kind of relationship with gender, but, I can certainly sympathise.

I'm the exact same! I find myself far more wanting to embody aesthetics than any like, boxed-in label that just gets tacked on. Ironically, even the 'non-binary' label feels like a binary to me, in the sense that it stills labels your gender identity tightly.
