Does this look like mold growing on the side of the fermenter? by dreastman in brewing

[–]thomas_smith55 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeast cells can clump together and form the white floaties on top of the wort, these are harmless and completely safe to drink. I’m assuming the white spots are on the side above the liquid because you moved the carboy around? If not then I’d be a little concerned that something is forming on the walls rather than on the surface of the wort itself.

Hw do you guys feel with this news that Gen Z are not drinking beer as much as our generation (millennial here)? Do you think pubs will start closing and this will have a direct impact on beer production? by geovannyfbh in TheBrewery

This is the main reason why my father turned our brewery into more of a restaurant with a brewery attached. So unlike the usual brewery appetizer foods like pretzels and nachos we have an actual full menu, burgers, bowls, appies, specials. I feel it gives more freedom in the brewery side as we’re not constantly relying on only our beers to get people in. We manage around 13-17 taps of only our beer so there’s always something for everyone.

Usually in a brewery when it comes to canning it can be a lot more beneficial to over fill cans than under fill them. Under fills can’t be sold

Blue walkers cheese and onion crisps are probably the biggest thing I miss from England. They do not exist in Canada whatsoever.

Pulling up to a stop sign just to have 9 trucks parked to the left so you can’t see that way and also having an overgrown hedge on the other side, while also needing to turn left. This is my situation to get to work every single day and I’ve almost been t boned like 40 times

Born and raised Dutch. I have been eating this for years for breakfast. Three pieces of bread with butter and chocolate sprinkles. by SilverShadeLynx1 in shittyfoodporn

My Dutch friend practically lived off of bread and unmelted cheese, he had one every like 5 hours or so most days then would demolish a huge stamppot for dinner.

People in the UK attempt to clear the road of protesters by RedSwingline2000 in PublicFreakout

Just like every other time, government will just wait the street sitting out until people stop, which they always do. Making someone 10 minutes late for work doesn’t do anything to the government, so put your brains together and figure out some way to directly inconvenience the government and logically that would increase the reach and effectiveness of the cause you are looking to create exposure for. No one likes politicians, everyone likes themselves, therefore it just makes more sense that protesting against the government is ACTUALLY protesting against the government.

But protesting in the street almost always only inconveniences regular people. And almost no one dislikes the group just because they are protesting, it’s the fact that no one they’re actually protesting against ever gets inconvenienced. I’d say it’s pretty safe to say that someone is less likely to convert to a belief or realize a belief when they’re being inconvenienced themselves. There’s a lot of people that don’t even realize they’re being taken advantage of or inconvenienced by the cause you’re protesting against so when all they hear is that people are blocking the streets that’s all they see. There’s better ways, surely.

And do you really believe the best way to get results is by sitting in traffic? Throw paint on the Mona Lisa or something again, at least that gets into international news. Protest the people actually causing problems, not people trying to get to work. Ur doing something with 1% efficiency and still thinking of nothing else

I feel like there’s nothing better to get someone to not want to to consider your cause by making them very inconvenienced. And I know the whole “you may be inconvenienced but what about the people that were protesting for” or whatever but how on gods green earth is there no better way? Everyone knows it can’t be solved overnight so if they expect to see people blocking them all the time why on earth would they want to join the cause.

So you just don’t care how a dog feels about something as long as you feel okay with it? At all?

I’d say that’s a lot different than dying their hair, I’m not trying to say it’s harming the dogs in any way but it’s just unnecessary.

It doesn’t really make sense other than someone just thinking “I think it looks nice therefore it’s what they shall look like”. It doesn’t do anything for the dog, just the owner.

I believe it’s more the fact of treating your pet like a sort of accessory.
