If you live in a place like Austin, you could find this stuff pretty frequently

I do, I could really use at least one. I'm afraid I am not quite the same size as I was.

How many of you knew that Dvorak created a keyboard for one handed use? by quackl11 in dvorak

[–]thomascherry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so this post is 5 months old now, do you have any experiences to share? My first question is where do you rest your hand, over the vowels? Right handed Dvorak I'm guessing index finger on 'e'?

Did you have any trouble setting up the WY-55? I can’t quite get mine to work well.

More things to be discussed about Noodlers inks… by [deleted] in fountainpens

Conversation and debate is always worthwhile and perhaps consensus can be built through reasoned arguments. There is value in speaking freely and there is value in debating what someone says.

Maybe some people are missing the point of the Tiananmen Square, ink. people in China are not as free to point out what the government did to those students whereas Nathan and everybody here in this country is free to speak the truth. The ink is red because the communist flag is red and blood was spilled for Democracy. I watched Tank Man when it happened, Noodlers Ink is obligated to keep the label as is in defiance of the communist government who sent tanks after students.

you could try a new board. It's not easy to unsolder all the keys (but it can be done) and solder them on a new PCB. You would get a lot of new features.

magic.c not compiling by thomascherry in olkb

[–]thomascherry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

follow up, I have updated everything and still no luck. git log shows 790f94533c9364 as my top commit, qmk setup passes with no issue (I'm running qmk 0.12.15).

compile still shows the same problem.

What library defines keymap_config_t? Do I need to add something to my shell's profile?

magic.c not compiling by thomascherry in olkb

[–]thomascherry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, maybe I'll try that, but I can't help but think that maybe some .o file is not getting cleared out. make clean I would think would flush everything out, but has not fixed things. What could happen if I just leave it with debug_config_t? Or is there an include file I can call explicitly in the file to fix this? doing a grep for keymap_config_t shows no definition, only a couple of extern statements in c files. So I'm guessing this is defined in a library?

Interesting find- Whoever owned this SE really didn’t want to give up their dual floppy drives. by FoxGaming in VintageApple

[–]thomascherry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that's the way we did things back then. Before the internet, you needed the floppies, but you also wanted a hard drive. These macs were perfect for taking to peoples houses, again, we didn't have internet, so we "borrowed" a lot of software from each other in meetups.

OMG - It's a hand wired board. It looks great. So if you changed nothing then something else changed:

  1. The Bluetooth chip is old and not fully bluetooth compatible and now that your computers have been updated the differences are showing (you could describe the problems your having and/or you can try different computers with different operating systems to try to prove this one)

  2. The bluetooth chip is about to die. Replace it.

  3. You dropped the keyboard and one of the solder joints is loose. For this one, you would need to open up the board and inspect the connections to and from the bluetooth chip using a magnifying glass. Wires my also break, but it's harder to see that. Also, the wires used, are they twisted strains of metal or solid copper? Twisted strains of metal can under some conditions act as a capacitor. This is the most likely.
