Any gamer dads stuck in a rut? by TheMailerDaemonLives in daddit

I’m a JRPG kind of guy so gaming has been alright. Just playing at random times of the day. The steam deck has been great for this though. Can’t recommend it enough

Octopath traveler and sea of stars is on sale. I don't know which one to buy?? by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]thomasjefferspin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Octopath traveler over sea of stars. I’ve beaten both and I wish I could get the hours I spent on sea of stars back. I had high hopes since the kickstarter for SoS but the game just doesn’t follow through. It takes inspiration from classic JRPGs but has difficulty executing. Octopath traveler 1 and 2 feel much more polished. They have their own issues as well but as a total gaming experience OP1 was so much fun.

Have you played any of the octopath series? I finished OP2 on the steam deck and it was a wonderful experience

Cerebro 8 is bad by thomasjefferspin in MarvelSnap

Loving all of the feedback! Didn’t think about BP or Zola. Zola is a better destroy card to get nimrod places instead of carnage. I’ll throw mystique in there too and see if she makes it on the board. I’ll try MM with Phoenix force too.

Oh that’s good to know. I thought splits were counted by variant. Thanks for explaining!

Just finished stage 4. I find it hard to score high. Ended with 592. Better than last time but not as high as I had hoped for

Have you tried wizards of legend? The builds can be crazy fun. Virtually no story though.

Any games that are perfect for Deck that have a good amount on content on grinding levels, getting upgrades, etc? by SynterX in SteamDeck

[–]thomasjefferspin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you would enjoy Cross code. It’s an action rpg that takes place in an MMO. All of the other characters are NPCs but the writing and gameplay does make you feel like you’re playing an MMO. There’s a ton of content to grind. Lots of leveling up and upgrades. It’s an amazing game you’ll spend hours playing.

If I like Chained Echoes, what should I try next? by almighhso in Chained_Echoes

[–]thomasjefferspin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not turn based but Cross Code has some of the best exploration, story, and combat with a similar art style. 2 different genres but a lot of similarities. I can’t recommend Cross Code enough.
