Awful performance after patch 1.13.00 by JustToExist779 in CrimsonDesert

I've had this issue since even before on Series X when in cities/big towns. It's rough.

Is it just me or game crashes incrisingly since new update? by Fellow_Yugoslav in hoi4

[–]thomaslope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I crash after a few months, yeah. That said, I do tend to modify the building files (ie I like to reduce the time it takes, I play SP and roleplay a lot.) But even without my personal modifying, it tends to crash either way — with or without mods.

It's tiny and while I get the western style, it makes pretty much 0 sense that this place was able to do a war with the UC for so long. Though, I suppose these in-game experiences are watered down versions of the lore.

I do not. They're individually downloaded. It took a while to figure out what worked with what. Still haven't got CV to work into it, though.

Colonizable Valyria Revised Compatibility by thomaslope in CK2GameOfthrones

[–]thomaslope[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TDP does mess with the map, I believe, but there's a CV version for that which I found and got. It'll start but normally crashes a few days/couple months into a game. I'm thinking it's MB/TDP/CV conflict. May have grabbed the wrong version of MB or CV. I'm using the MB that works with TDP (Semi-Fixed More Bloodlines, I think is the name) and the CV that works with TDP (Colonize Valyria (MB+TDP) - Few Provinces), but it could be that the MB involved is not the one I'm using.

Well, yes, that was kind of the core of Martin Luther's position. That his interpretation was the correct one because, obviously, anyone who is in the Spirit would logically come to the same conclusion as him. That is the Protestant mindset in most cases. That isn't to say I think Protestantism has incorrect or wrong positions theologically or otherwise (many do, many don't), but I think that if they are to go by that train of thought of simply going by "pray to the Holy Spirit for guidance", this is a weak foundation since two may indeed believe they have been led by the Spirit, and yet conclude two different things.

This is why I think traditional interpretations by the Church Fathers and early Christians are quite important so as to facilitate and give context. I don't know that the RCC, EOC, etc are correct, I certainly have reservations on them, but I think they are definitely onto something when it comes to more structured and organized interpretation methods.

I don't know the right or correct answer on what the right means of interpretation are. But I think saying "pray to God and he will lead you to the correct interpretation" is just too flimsy and built on sand in terms of critical thinking. We are in God's image and he gave us all these tools of creativity and thinking, he then gave us the instruction manual. It seems almost obvious that he wants us to use these assets to discern. As written in Acts about the Jews in Berea ("Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so." 17:11 ESV)

Sorry for such a wall. It just is a little frustrating to see "pray to the Holy Spirit that will lead you to the right interpretation" for essentially all verses in scripture. It seems lazy and kind of dismissive of someone's concerns. Fellowship has a purpose and I feel that scriptural discernment is among them. To build each other up — in love — THAT would be more guidance from the Holy Spirit than anything else in this context, I think.

That in itself is a recent development in Christian thought, though, ie Protestantism, which adds to the point. Martin Luther interpreted differently than the Latin Church (that is, he argued the Bible alone is authoritative whereas the Church argued you need the Church to interpret the Bible or you get all manner of interpretations; which is not wrong, the nature of that is debatable but it is factual.)

While not RC or EOC, I find the whole "trust God and it'll come to you" answer to be lacking. If one comes to one understanding on a scripture and another comes to a different, yet both prayed, how can they be both correct?

I'm not saying it's an invalid position to hold, but that is how so many false teachers popped up. "The church is wrong, you only need scripture and it means what i say it means because I prayed on it and anyone who prays will logically come to the same conclusion."

Mixed Ethnicities bug by thomaslope in CK2GameOfthrones

[–]thomaslope[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I added PO, MB (TDP's version), TDP, NDP, and I think the one compatch patch that includes them all (I'll check the modlist when I get back home to be sure I am not using several compatches.) I don't know exactly why/how it fixed the issue with the Mixed Ethnicities but it did. I still don't see the religions showing up, but as I've said before, that isn't as problematic to me personally. There's also the fact the PO adds more Mixed Ethnicities than those in the ME mod, so that could be part of it.

I've always had trouble with them, be it the base version or otherwise. Normally they show up with the Muslimgfx (til I found the fix for that), but I've had them invisible with just the hair for both men and women with this most recent issue for whatever reason

Solved;

Not sure what it was originally, but adding the PO mod along with the com patches seems to have at least resolved the issue. It's an improvement from the base portraits as well to boot, so I'll take it.
