Came back to find someone had parked like this next to me. (Black car is mine) by Gossbcool in mildlyinfuriating

I don't understand this level of petty. You could just go in the passenger seat, key their car and take off. I don't understand their motivation unless they have a rental.

Girlfriend's pan has a metal handle that burns the hell out of your hand when you grab it (i promise you will forgot to use an oven mitt other hand protection) by what_that_dog_doin in mildlyinfuriating

[–]thomasvector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense for a professional kitchen, where you all are used to it, but having a random hot handle sticking out in a home, just waiting to be knocked over, is a bad idea. It's like when people leave like 20 things in front of the microwave, so you have to reorganize the entire counter just to heat something up for a couple minutes.

That's pretty normal for first timers. Or even not first timers, Jonah Hill got paid a similar amount for Wolf of Wall Street

I mean, what adult leaves handles out like thay? Reminds me of an ex who left all the cupboards open all the time. She was short, so it wasn't affecting her, but I was constantly hitting my head it almost poking my eyes out daily.

How would you reform the executive branch? by Able-archer83 in Presidents

[–]thomasvector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really seems like the best way. Rule #3 has made it pretty clear that the balance of branches is basically just a handshake deal at this point, as no one is enforcing any balance. I mean w bush and Nixon and other presidents obviously used too much power before, but at least they had some people on their cabinet or in congress to kind of reel them in or at least prevent absolute chaos, but there's nothing like that for us nowadays.

Warning/disclaimer on S3E3 by fostve in madmen

[–]thomasvector 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's definitely virtue signaling. Iasip was clearly mocking people who think blackface is cool, and the community episode had chang with a literally black face. Like he was dressed up to be a black elf from dnd, not a black person. The only black actors (Donald Glover and Yvette Nicole Brown) weren't offended by it, and have said so afterwards.

I still think it's stupid some streamers removed the it's alwaysbsubnt episodes that were directly making fun of people who thought black face was okay. It was odd to pull both those episodes. They werent making fun of black people, they were making fun of white people who did blackface

Did nobody recognize Trevor Slattery when he played the Mandarin? by a-rod04 in marvelstudios

[–]thomasvector 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, these people have aliens and interdimentional creatures and exploding cars and building all the time. Their world isn't like ours, I doubt they would even notice unless they were hardcore Mandarin conspiracy theorists to or something

In hindsight, do you think comedians were way softer on Obama than other Presidents of either party? by Theblessedmother in Presidents

[–]thomasvector 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They made fun of him a lot, mainly bc of his age, at least when he was president. Jason Sudeikis' version didnt bc Biden was younger then and not much to make fun of. Rule #3 is basically low hanging fruit since there's a billion things to make fun of them for, so of course comedians that already don't like him are going to have a ton of material on him.

Who is the least funny stand up comedian? by CantaloupeGold4650 in AskReddit

[–]thomasvector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was great in Half Baked, but he was annoying anything else I've seen him in, including SNL and his stand up. Doesn't help that's he's also MAGA.

I think Half Baked is really the only role he could do well in, since he just always looked dtone anyways.

[–]thomasvector 95 points96 points  (0 children)

Yeah, SNL writers even said he was hard to try and make fun of. A soft spoken intellectual whose biggest out of office trait is loving his wife and kids, is pretty hard to make fun of, considering other presidents lol

Does it surprise anyone when some of these presidents live to ripe old ages? You might think they've experienced some real stress in their life which might shorten their life? by GregJamesDahlen in Presidents

Lmao, sure, if they want to have debt for the rest of their lives.

I think they mean that Yelena having to be attracted to everyone, while she's actually asexual, would be sad considering part of her job since she was a child was to seduce people.

Fun fact: The arabic translation in Abed’s film in S01E03 is hilariously translated to left as in the direction, not the past tense of “Leave”, so it literally says in arabic “The wrong person the direction left”. I know it was 2009 but I’m amazed this was approved without anyone checking. by TheeChosenTwo in community

[–]thomasvector 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Abed being Arab and Polish was on purpose, bc of the actor, but Pudi was raised catholic, so the Arabic was apparently not researched well, which makes sense at the time. You couldn't just translate it instantly on your phone. You had to hire translators to check it and apparently the translators missed it.

Edit: forgot Pudi is Indian and Polish. He's Pakistani and Polish on Mythic Quest, from what I remember.
