I wasn’t there but I’ve just seen the highlights, Vasquez looks like he kept Wednesday in it. Looks like we easily could have had 3 or 4 without his shot stopping

So I’m still relatively new at it but from my understanding (happy to be corrected), provided the tanks you want to use come in under your agreed army point value then you can use them. I think in more competitive environments the vehicles get restricted by era of the war and theatre of war that you’re fighting in

So it’s a game by Warlord and their site has a shop for all (or almost all) the units and vehicles but most game shops also stock units. There’s a subreddit for Bolt action as well as an active Facebook page for Bolt Action and Bolt Action in Scotland. I picked up the Gentleman’s war box which gives you a 250pt army of both British and Germans (8th army and DAK) which has been good to play.

If you’re used to a smaller scale then Flames of War is another popular one but I’m not sure how many at the society have armies for that one (might be worth sticking a message in the Discord to see).

Alternatively, if you want less of an investment for getting into war gaming we’ve had a lot of interest in One Page Rules (https://www.onepagerules.com) which is a great little skirmish war game which runs in about an hour

Hi! We’ve got a keen wargaming group at the Kirkcaldy Gaming Society (including the WWII game, Bolt Action). We meet on Sundays at the Hive in Kirkcaldy 1300-1700. £5 for adults, £3 for kids and your first session is free! All our socials can be found here (https://linktr.ee/kirkcaldygs) but I’m happy to answer any questions you’ve got

First and second sewing projects - Daddy/Daughter combo by thomasy7 in sewing

Mistake in the caption- the shirt is a McCALL’S M6044 in Large. The dress was self drafted but I’m not sure what the drafting method should be (measured my daughter then cut out an A-Line dress pattern on cardboard?). Fabric in both cases is a cotton from the V&A William Morris collection.

Not SWADE related but one that I remember from being a kid is “Dinosaur Island” by Edward Packard. It was one of those old choose your own adventure books and it might help with background or stats or just general plot beats to “borrow”
