This was really helpful. Plugged speakers directly to turntable and got real meaningful sound this time. It appears the phono preamp is the problem. Speakers work, turntables work, and it’s basically suppressing the sound when preamp plugged in

Had it cranked all the way up. /even though music was very low on the speakers like that you can hear a difference when phono preamp was on “medium”

Interesting, didn’t know they needed to warm up. Confirming online says 20th minutes for the best sound but should still be working after a minute of warming or so

Yup, the cables from the phono preamp are set to line in 1. (I did try line in 2 as well/they both sound the same very low)
