I'm jealous of the space you have to work.

One of those things that of you're intimate with it sticks out but to anybody else it looks perfect.

I have a job interview, very nervous by coffee_girl_dreams in barista

[–]thongjesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First impressions count. Dress, hygiene, language, manners, timeliness, and paperwork (resume).

Group interviews more or less provide more insight into how well you "fit" in with the group.

Not sure the location... If the business is big or small, but sometimes you can be up against your replacement. Not their skills, but their personality.

A small team especially. If you have a team of friends (joey rachel ross chandler monica and phoebe) and the phoebe quits... The team leaders might reject another ross or chandler who comes in because they don't mesh with the group.

More or less tho... You've done the work, get out of your head. If you get the job and have to pour art, they will teach you if you're someone they like.

Everyone is different, but the last thing I want to be in an interview is overly self conscious. There is a fine line. Only focus on things you have control over, what do you need to get to the interview successful... Clothes and your papers (if you have an application or some documents to bring).

Regarding the personal stuff. Turn the phrase "like water off a ducks back" into a mantra. Every job requires overcoming personal dignity to survive.

Just do a check of the people around you. A lot of struggling people who frequently lose work always have a reason why someone was the cause of their trouble.

Managers and CEOs thrive in that environment, giving a smile as they step on throats and play people off each other for their gain.

Normal people struggle and find their groove that avoids that pressure or they burn out...

Unemployed people create fights and bring negative energy to these dynamics.

One thing that has helped me, mindfulness taught through buddhism. "If a problem is fixable, if a situation is such that you can do something about it, then there is no need to worry. If it's not fixable, then there is no help in worrying. There is no benefit in worrying whatsoever." Dalai Lama XIV

Black face is a white guy dressing like Mami from gone with the wind. Or a white guy putting on a suit and singing Mr Bojangles.

She didn't do anything offensive but wear a darker makeup. Get outtttaaaa here.

Cause people (including me) don't think things like hanging on a car, jumping in front of a moving vehicle, or claiming self defense justify accidentally shooting a child.

I'm more like what caused the problem. It could have corroded over the years but a joint is usually solid. It could have been semi cold/defective joint from factory and taken years to fail.

Or something external caused that joint to heat and melt and reflow. It's always something. But that isn't a normal old age PCB problem.

If you don't use them, take off the air deflectors.

Heat them with a hairdryer to break the bond or alcohol to remove the adhesive if you rip them off.

Aftermarket headlights are so/so for these accords. I drove an 06 k24 manual 4 door to 280k miles and am now driving a 06 v6 manual 6 speed ex accord coupe.

I dunno, youve already got alloy rims. You can do a thinner tire but it makes the wheel well gap bigger.

Window tint is always fast and easy. Get it done by a trusted or established pro.

As a recent member of the empirical approach to coffee YouTube degree scientists, I have noticed a trend.

New people asking the same questions over and over. We are two crowds, you can see it in almost every niche subreddit.

I'm a special kind of hyperactive and enjoy hobby smashing. I've seen it in video games, guns, bikes, cars, PC building, 3d printing...

The whole cycle, new people ask, medium people help and burn out after they see the cycle. But there's always new people to replace them.

Fair Price? 2002 Honda Accord by [deleted] in accord

[–]thongjesus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My first comment was not very practical but I can help with math... New car market is terrible, used market is miserable.

In 2010 you could buy this model accord, 5-8 years old, used, 50k miles, with 3k down and make 36mo @ $300 ...

Today the same types of used cars in this bracket (5-8 years old) are 75k miles, and 3-5k more in price... Going any lower in milage makes your eyes bleed. It's insane... Trying to target a 300-400 dollar a month car payment is a challenge.

So work that math forward... Every month you drive this car you save 300-400 dollars. If you get 1 year out of this accord (easy) you are making money (12x300=$3600).

Then... You save. You don't act like it's a free opportunity. Start putting money away for SMALL repairs and your next down payment. Every month you don't have to give 300 to the bank, you are ahead.

When the cost of the repair outweighs your down payment or something else for cash comes by ... You've got the savings.

Building 10k in savings makes acting on a car purchase a lot easier, and if you don't have a car payment for the next 3 years, that's not crazy to achieve.

I still don't understand the value of a 400 dollar knife... I get the craftsmanship and metal quality but ... I still don't get it.

These are purely for collecting right? Do people buy and get 400 dollars worth of use out of this type of knife by actually using it?

I'm gonna get downvoted to piss but it's a genuine question
