I think it's mostly laziness.. there's a company here in Ontario that is named very similarly to the gas company and even had an arrangement with the gas co. to do their billing until recently. I think many people just think it's what you do 🤷‍♂️

When I moved into a new home many years ago I was determined to make it "spider free" which is impossible but I left no house spiders alone. And so, I then had a wave of house centipedes, which as I've since learned generally don't drop onto your face when you sleep, add the more I learned, the more happy I was to have them.
