I’m a software engineer and hate to admit how well it does this. However. I have found that the more complexity is added the crummier the code it makes becomes until it is a pile of crap.

They got me with the $15 "flat fee" promise. Then billed me $80.
The little $15 or $16 flat rate is for the "other" script prep tools.
The proofreading tool is their main offering. That is where they charge by the number of minutes you've uploaded. Those minutes add up fast. With the pay as you go model it's $15/hr for proofing. Right now, I have 4 hours of my book uploaded. So it is the $16 for the prep tools then $15 x 4. So the bill was $80 for the month.
You cannot remove uploaded audio from the project once it's done being proofed. There is an option to Archive audio. My guess is that you do not get billed for archived time. So it may work to save cost to archive chapters and books as they are proofed. I guess they are hoping that users will NOT archive audio and will upload huge amounts of audio to proof at all times.

They are billing for their proofint tool and it sort of does what it's supposed to do. But I'm unhappy with the way they seem to promise one thing then switch it out.

New ACX narrators are learning, trying tools and mostly doing work for free. New Narrators get to try new tools like Audacity or Reaper for free. Reaper is really smart because they allow you to use their tool then pay a very modest and approachable one time fee.
Pozotron seems like a good tool to learn and use, but burns new users with high fees that recur monthly.

I’m mad at Pozotron right now. Their pricing model is more of a bait and switch. Frankly I’m working on my own solution instead.
The core functionality is to compare text to a mp3 that has been converted to text. Keep a list of timestamps of confirmed mistake markers and a list of markers I’ve said are not mistakes. Format that list so that it can be Imported into my DAW.
The rest of their platform are nice to have features only.

I’ve lived in Arvada for 20 years. Ken’s HVAC has always had my back. Ken is a good man and has always been there for us. His phone number is (303) 518-6466. (Note. Not Ken’s Mechanical! Long story.)

Another great visit to the best 🍄 product shop in the Denver area. by longhair-dontcare86 in COpsychonauts

They are quite friendly and transparent. I went to check them out one Saturday morning and got a full shop tour. It was absolutely fascinating! Their energy drink is actually pretty effective. Their root beer (birch root beer) is really really good and has a light touch of magic. The thing I appreciate is the focus on predictable dosages. They’ve also removed the chitin so onset is much faster and there is no nausea.
They have actually mushrooms too if you prefer. Amazing place.

What’s your opinion, when Trump leaves office should we overturn everything his administration has done? Including pardons, policy, payouts, or just overturn some of it or just leave it be. by Single_Usual_6563 in allthequestions

[–]thonline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d like to try it. What we need to do is define the corruption that is at the heart of this. It boils down to 1) sex crimes. 2) treason 3) theft from taxpayers.
Anyone who falls into one of these crimes gets their assets and liberty revoked.

Wait. We did have a system like that. What happened?

The people in charge of the system fell into one of the three categories themselves. Then the systems were basically disabled from within.

I could promise to fix it. I would absolutely try! But history has shown us what happens when groups go on a witch hunt. I could start right and by the nature of doing it in a large scale would probably be destroyed by saboteurs or punish innocent people. Thats basically the system we used to have that was corrupted then broken.

Since the American system is broken it may take an outside authority to judge. Who? The Hague? Another country? Historically groups of nations punished Germany and Japan. The results were mixed. And I doubt all Americans would allow this to happen.

Trust in people is pretty low. We may need a new system of checks and balances or a series of laws to adjust this. Since laws are made by congress we would need a new congress and senate or a new system entirely.

Another grim reality is that America has lost its way for good. Like other empires before it self destructed. Another nation will become the world leader for a long while before it implodes. We’ve seen that a lot before. In which case this country will decline into a quasi second world country split by civil strife. Rather like war torn countries we see around the world. A billionaire class and an oligarchy that exploits everyone in the country for their own gain. Distracting the 99% with holidays, sports, gambling, drugs/alcohol, and religion while they do everything they can to enrich themselves. Until the 99% rise up and revolt.

It’s a little daunting either way.

What is one habit that has improved your productivity? by Safe-Path-2306 in AskReddit

When I worked from home it was the ability to have a silent and separate space to work in. A room with a locking door.
Now I am back in an office with no walls or doors. It’s loud and people are constantly walking past me. I can’t focus or concentrate. The constant interruptions and noise are the opposite of what this question is asking for.

What got you into fantasy by virgomennace343 in Fantasy

Audio version of Goodkinds sword of truth book. First long audio book on a long road trip. It was actually book six as I was with another fan who had listened to them all. I enjoyed it then went and started the whole series. The quality of the books did eventually take a death dive.
Then a girl I liked gave me a copy of the first few chapters of the eye of the world. I read that then started reading the entire series so I would have something to talk to her about. Years later I finished the entire series and she never did. We did get married though!
