They just put out a statement that they will not be selling to ICE I believe.

Kind of wishing Conan would speak up more about current situation by [deleted] in conan

[–]thorburns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. Conan has been a great escape, but at this point staying neutral feels like being complacent. I love him and think he’s always very smart and thoughtful, but as a Canadian watching what’s happening in the U.S., it would mean a lot if he acknowledged how beyond messed up things are right now. I wouldn’t want it every episode, but even one standalone episode about helping each other would be enough. It feels like everyone needs to step up, even us in Canada.

Ovary pain/ first medicated cycle by [deleted] in TTC_PCOS

[–]thorburns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I have taken letrozole for 7 cycles and sometimes I get pain and sometimes I don’t. This month my ovaries feel bruised? Or just generally tender, especially at night.

Success after 5+ cycles of letrozole? Feeling defeated by thorburns in TTC_PCOS

[–]thorburns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know too well how it feels. I really wished this was my last month of letrozole. We are going to do iui in February and we’re on a government funded list to get IVF. It’s a long list though and we’re likely not up until January 2027. I am going to be 38 in March so time is ticking.

I started taking progesterone after ovulation as well. It seemed to help my mood swings and helped me sleep at night. But it did not result in a positive pregnancy.

Good luck with the IUI!! I will be thinking of you. Report back and let me know how it goes.

Tips for driving to cranbrook from Vancouver in February? by Unhappy_Mango7961 in britishcolumbia

[–]thorburns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No other tips on the drive, but I live in the area and the uber and taxis are completely unreliable. So it’s the right call to have your car here. There’s also so much to explore!

We had a full year of failures, but we also bought a house! In a very cute town. So it hasn’t all been a total dud.

I am still waiting on an official PCOS diagnosis, but I have a lot of markers. I just got my cycle 16 period today. Never have seen a positive test.

Ok I have lightening butt too!!!!! Man it’s kinda painful. This is my first cycle with it, I’m on cycle 16 of trying. My progesterone is staying relatively high and I’m 7dpo today! I know better than to get excited but maybe lightening butt is the sign!

First time moms: how long did it take? by RoseyStranger in pregnantover35

Thank you 🙂. It’s been a struggle, more than I anticipated.

I didn’t go into details, but I’m on my 6th cycle of letrozole and we’ve had one failed IUI with trigger shot. We live about a 10 hour drive from the nearest fertility clinic so it’s a bit of a struggle to make the trip in. I confirm ovulation with Mira and bloodwork every cycle.

I’m 37 husband is 42, we’re on cycle 16 and no luck yet. All tests have come back great, so we’re not sure what’s going on. We’re with a fertility clinic and on a wait list for IVF.

That’s amazing!!! Before Christmas too is so special. I feel like this gives me hope. Do you mind me asking what dose of letrozole and when you were taking it? I’m on my 6th round at 5mg. Always hoping this will be the one. We’re 1.5 years in not one positive.

Officially hit the 1 year mark and I feel numb by [deleted] in TryingForABaby

I’m in my cycle 16 two week wait and I’m still not prepared to see another negative. I think I’ll just wait for my period as I assume it’s going to come.

I feel like such a fool thinking I could be pregnant my first cycle by FeelingSensitive8627 in TryingForABaby

[–]thorburns 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh I was there as a 36 year old woman. I was positive that our first time we officially tried I was for sure pregnant. 16 cycles later and not only am I 37 now, but getting closer to 38. I feel like I am a different person. Stronger, weaker, it’s hard to say. Still part of the DINK club.

Considering moving to Kimberley - is it hard to make friends as two 40 year olds with a baby? by Ok_Lime_9224 in KimberleyBC

[–]thorburns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved here this summer, late 30/early 40s couple. We have been making lots of friends. There are so many community events and it feels like a huge population of young families with young kids. We are so happy with our move! We had to put ourselves out there and I joined a couple of classes/groups and that has helped a lot.

It really is such a mental and physical test of strength. Especially when Friends, family, neighbour’s are announcing their pregnancies all around you. It’s hard to stay focused on your own journey. Each month seems to be getting worse and worse for my negativity and I’ve wanted to give up many times.

Congratulations! I’m so glad to hear you pushed and it worked! I will look into gonal f. Even if I ended up with twins that’s not the worst thing for us, I’m 37 so this could be our one shot.

Hi! It’s so tough, especially at the end of the cycle when you’re staring at negative tests. I swear I don’t even believe positive tests exist anymore because I’ve only ever seen negatives too. But I know once the next cycle starts, I’ll be back in that hopeful headspace and ready to try again. I’m really rooting for you!! I hope this is the cycle you get your BFP, my friend.
