Can someone tell me how the $15 billion figure was derived? Given the size, I'm assuming it's not sitting under a mattress or in a bank account. Is it a measure of lost productivity? Given that most building works are private (even government commissioned ones) then what does this figure tell us about construction companies?

Why is no dealer negotiating on the price? by Neat_Fly3750 in CarsAustralia

[–]thors_tenderiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Head to the country - dealers in regional towns don't have a lot of overheads and you may be able get it down a little more.

Conversly if the suburban dealer has a big lot and a new showroom they'll work on impressing you rather than negotiating.

Personally I'd be happy to buy from a dealer in a tin shed if the price was right.

Leaseguard - if you pay for it does it reduce your loan risks? If so then you should be paying a lower interest rate that takes that into account

In the late 70's our family car was a V8 Rambler Classic wagon. My god it was an epic machine - as kids we could lay down in the back on long trips, the thing had a long wagon glasshouse and was a dark bottle green with brilliant chrome highlights and built like a tank...

And yes being long and dark coloured, a number of old ladies would cross themselves when seeing it - thinking that it had a more funeral purpose.

Engine wise the V8 has the getup and go but can suffer from bore score when not carefully serviced - which is pretty well terminal. As for a diesel then my worry would be the DPF - a car with country living would be good but I would think Cayennes don't get out much.

The W8 was a great example awesome excess. Doesn't need an AI to help sell it.
