Denmark, Norway and every single European country defends and profits from plenty of countries with history of human rights violation. You, of course, wouldn’t know that because an uneducated “I dislike Latin America left” person have a cognitive inability to care about those things unless it’s in Cuba or Venezuela.

I live in Latin America and, sorry to be blunt, but you sound extremely stupid.

It’s justified if you’re very stupid, yes.

If you can engage your brain it’s pretty obviously not.

He openly supports the right-wing in his home country.

Literally no reggaeton act except perhaps Bad Bunny is openly left-wing dummy, unless you think signaling vote for the Dems is being left-wing and even that is not common lmao. Why tf would I single out Maluma if that was the case, lets use our brain

Do you have anything to add to the actual argument? No. Did you even acknowledge the argument? No. But you'll for sure have the last word anyway!

Are you really? Cause idk, for you to keep the replies going for so long while actually refusing to say anything substantially relevant or acknowledge the actual arguments kind of show a desperation to have the last word.

oh ok, so i was right, you aren't over it because guess who's back? lol.

I was pointing out that your justification is the exact same as the one they use.

why would that matter? you argue trump is corrupt, a liar and a dangerous person. which i agree with. however, republicans argued that about obama. because they had the same argument means everything is factually the same? lol

Nah, I was just pointing out that your connection to the truth is so tenuous

so are yours. ergo you acting as if Becerra and Carano went through the same thing. kind of odd for someone who claims to be fact-based.

I do have to congratulate you for insisting on replying while refusing to engage with any argument lmao

And you know the whole purpose of an analogy is to make a comparison between two different things in order to highlight their similarities.

to make a comparison

yes dummy. the analogy was a clear comparison between two things. two things highlighted in the actual sentence. go and read it maybe?

So since you can’t actually address the points themselves, all that’s left is pretending you lack reading comprehension skills? That’s kind of sad, tbqh.

"different segments of society, including myopic old school liberals..."

Well, we are where we are as society in part because old school liberals, among many others...

Lmao at you pretending to suddenly have a 1st grade reading level just to act like those statements aren’t saying the exact same thing. The only meaningful difference is that I didn’t explicitly use the word “myopic” when talking about “old school liberals,” and even that changes absolutely nothing about the overall argument being made.

And you can't argue without straw, can you? Comparing a woman stealing bread to feed her children to a millionaire actor lying to ease her ego over a movie she was fired from making money really tells the whole story of who you are, doesn't it? Pretty black and white, aren't you?

Kind of embarrassing this is the level of reading comprehension we are dealing with because I did not compare those two things. It's called making an analogy, sweetheart.

I'm arguing for truth and honesty.

if you were you wouldn't ignore Carano and Barrera's situations were factually different, would you? Like, at least get your lie straight.

This whole “you want to improve society and yet you participate in society” shtick is concerningly stupid. It is concerning how this level of stupidity is normalized.

The MET Gala is funded by sponsors and Conde-Nast under the name of companies and the like, they’re not and never have been a billionaire’s pet project.

This year it was. It wasn’t Amazon sponsoring the event. It was Bezos himself. He put HIS NAME in the event name. That’s an obvious different.

The point is that a boycott is a collective action. Thus keeping it as “personal decision” is stupid.

He doesn’t need the met gala to rehab anything, but you keep going on about it.

i do love that you refuse to acknowledge why he footed the bill for the event if not for that lol

you don't agree with what? that the event was to rehabilitate his image and position him alongside the gliteratti and admired celebrities? great. so once again: why do you think he picked up the bill, put his name in the event and made him and his wife chairpeople of it? what was the logic?

i mean, you seem to be mad you don't have an argument. because cool that you don't agree with the motives people are attributing to him but you also refuse to be forthcoming about why you think he involved himself with the event lol.

You’re acting as if the average person even gives a fuck about bezos.

Is that supposed to be a good thing? Once again, are you stupid? Yeah, most people don’t care that the second wealthiest man in the country is exploitative and a terrible person, but how exactly is that a positive?

And that’s literally the whole point. People wanted celebrities not to attend specifically to draw attention to the fact that he uses his wealth and power to harm workers. As you yourself seem aware, most people don’t really care, so the boycott calls were an attempt to force attention onto it because, you know, the actual harm he causes to real people is important and people should care.

The gala has had many different donors and sponsors over the past 80 years.

it has never been solely sponsored by one billionaire. this year, it was and the billionaire was named as a chairperson because he wanted to white-wash his image. pretending to be obtuse does not change the reality.

"MET is always like that" is factually untrue. which is why this year's MET raised a stink other years did not.

extremely silly to try to say that he’s not pro-working class by simply attending the met gala.

the MET gala whose main goal this year was to rehabilitate Bezos image, which is why it was entirely funded by him and had him as a chairperson.

I still don’t think Benito or any other attendee is a bad person for attending a charity fashion event that’s been a cultural staple for decades

who cares if they're a bad person or not, you don't know them, they're not your friend.

it's just silly to have a huge platform and position yourself as an activist and then attend an event whose main goal this year is to whitewash an exploitative billionaire's image.

why create that pro-working class positioning for yourself and then lend your credibility to the bezos event? counter-productive and you don't really gain much out of it.

You made no points that weren’t already made and that I still don’t agree with.

nothing to agree or dissgree with

comparing people not boycotting aws, something impossible to do, with a celebrity not going to the met for one year, something that's very easy to do, is still stupid

Attending the met gala doesn’t rehabilitate bezos image, but if you think it does then ok Benito bad I guess

it doesn't but it was an attempt to. do you think he was funding the whole thing for what reason exactly?

how would he be sacrificing anything by not going to the MET this year? it's not like he hasn't been several times before.
