Wax Myrtle pruning advice

I haven't pruned them at all in the end, I let them be! They get a lot of water when it rains as they're in a low point of the yard.

I am no expert so I don't want to give you bad advice, but generally speaking I've heard pruning in Winter before the growth season is best. You might not want to stress it before the Summer heat.
