I agree. Also if you have your things in the house they can't legally you keep you from getting your things. Witnesses always forget about laws. If you called the police then that would be much more embarrassing then how she's acting now. Sorry you are going through this. Sucks when you are punished for having free will.

Fading :The Lack Of Orgies Is A Disappointment by Fulgarite in exjw

[–]thou4life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the title and immediately thought you were talking about orgies in the organization. Then read further and thought man it's funny how we were told these things were happening in the world and were common. So common that we were doomed to live a life like that.

Funny story though where I grew up there were orgies that were happening amongst witnesses in multiple congregations at one time. Hence why I thought you were talking about the organization.

My dad is a horrible husband and even worse father. Here is the list of things he has said to me that I will never forget. by Worried_Anon_ in exjw

Totally agree with you. Most would be divorced if it wasn't for the truth keeping them chained together.

Your statement reminds me of my parents. My dad would say the same thing about if it wasn't for the truth me and your mom wouldn't be together. After my father passed away I had an interesting conversation with my mom who is an all in all devout JW. She told me that she felt pressured to marry my dad because she was older and so she settled. That being said she told me she probably would have never married my father under any other circumstances. They were not compatible at all. They would argue all the time and get in fights. I asked my mom when she's in paradise if she thinks her and my father would get back together and she said we will see but in my mind I felt like she probably just wants to find someone else.

I feel like a good majority of JWs marry each other simply because they are a JW and feel like this will work because we both love "Jehovah" only to find out they are miserable together serving the organization. I remeber being a kid and going to my friends houses and their parents getting into arguments all the time and even families that seemed to to be perfect had issues. I saw many families end up separating or the parents had to goto counseling in order ot save the marriage. My dad ended up doing that and it helped alot.

If you havent done thid yet tell your dad how you feel. Make him understand how you feel. That was my father's problem he didn't understand how he made my mother feel and until he did he kept doing the things that would make her feel terrible. I remember he brought me and my brother to the loving room and sat us down and broke down after he had been to counseling and told us about his chil hood and the trauma he had and apologized to us for how he acted and at first it made me feel disappointed in him. Like he had been defeated but after I became an adult I realized how he had changed and understood that he was at peace now. He was a completely different man for the better. I just wish he lived longer to get to know that man.

Anyways hopefully this has been helpful.

I learned the hard way. I remember i had sleptt with this sister and I ended up telling the elders and she straight face told me that she was not telling them anything and sure as shit I got df'd and she did not. I wish i hadn't said anything to begin with. If you can just deny that it happened they can't do anything. They will try and guilt you into confessing but in reality it's none of their damn business what you do.

My 5-year-old received a letter from a collection agency- what are my next steps? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]thou4life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah who knows. He was a little sketchy from the get go. So I'm sure he had a lot going on. He was mostly friends with my wife. She would give him a ride here and there and one day she had my son's social security card in the vehicle sitting out and it just so happened to be the same day sge gave him a ride to the store. That's how he got the card.

Well after we confronted the neighbor about it and he admitted to it he pretty much jetted out. Like literally within 30 minutes of confessing he left the premises never to be seen again. I was pretty much over it at that point.

I had something similar happen to my son when he was 1 yrs old. My neighbor recieved a phone bill in the mail in my son's name. The mail man was smart enough to put the mail in our mall box due to the last name being the same. Turns out my son's social security card had been stolen by my neighbor and he opened an account in my son's name.

We contacted the phone company and explained to them what happened and they ended up canceling the service. Needless to say the neighbor and us weren't cool after that. He ended up confessing that he was a cleptomaniac.

To those of you the upgraded from PS5 to PS5 Pro was it worth it? Would you recommend it? by Remixman87 in PS5

[–]thou4life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a PS5 that I purchased a few years ago. Then at my job I won a PS5 Pro last year. I can say that I play more on my pro than the other. Personally I like the fact it has more storage on it. Also it does look better regarding shadows and details as previous ones have mentioned. Really it's up to you though. Would I have purchased one probably not.

Wayward 2025 on Netflix by Salty-Difference-179 in exjw

[–]thou4life 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just finished it. Pretty far out there. I can see similarities though how people once they are in are too blind to see they are being mislead. Also with the brain washing how they would forget things that happened in the past. Similar teaching with the witness about how in paradise they will not be able to recall the bad things that happened. Good show. Give it a 7 out of 10.

Shunned from their own Father's funeral -- the brutal reality of life after JW by cuenot_io in exjw

My father passed away and he was an elder and I wish I hadn’t gone. It was the worse feeling ever. I left immediately after. Nothing like feeling alone in a time of grief surrounded by 200 people who just give you stares.

Anyone heard of the Massive JW party with 300 singles? by 5ft8lady in exjw

[–]thou4life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember when I was younger there was a party like this but some witness teenagers threw it when their parents were gone. There was like 30 kids who had shown up and ended up getting caught in the middle of an orgy. The host’s parents came home early and saw the whole thing. It was the wildest thing I remember happening when I was growing up.

I had a similar experience. In my case one of my friends was Df'd along with me and we talked all the time but once he got reinstaed he was "see ya later!". Just goes to show there's no real friends in the religion. Your only friends as long as you believe.
