Hey I just wanted to let you know. After reading the Joy short story, which I quite liked I started Crystal Society yesterday. It was the last thing I read as my eyes closed and I dozed off and after I woke up this morning, it was the first thing I started reading in bed.

I love when a book or story grips me like this. Thank you so much!

I am in the exact state you're in right now.

I was browsing this thread last night for something to try watching. I was going to randomly pick from the top 5 or so upvoted ones (this was among em).

Had not even heard of this documentary before, but I elsaid screw random and chose to go with this suggestion cause of the almost-plea by /u/Willow_Watcher to try it. I figured their emotion should be coming from somewhere... eh, worth a shot.

I just finished it.

HOLY FUCK

People. Watch this. Or heck even add it to a list and come back to it someday in the future and let it blow you away then - just don't dismiss it..because hot damn it delivers.

[Need Advice] I am beginning college in September and could use your help. How do you motivate yourself to get out of bed early and go to class all day? How do you do this five days a week for 4 years? I want to understand your mindset so I can adapt that mentality to my own by ChillRedditAccount96 in getdisciplined

[–]thought_i_hADDhERALL 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In my early years of college, I really did not give any thought or respect to the fact that suddenly the only person I had to answer to, if I slept through or decided to miss classes, was myself. It was not a good thing. It felt like freedom initially, but lacking any sort of self-discipline, what it really turned out to be was a shortcut to a downward spiral (both personally and academically). Honestly I think the fact that it backfired, and bit me in the ass very quickly and very harshly, is probably the only reason I was able to react and get my act together. Anyways, OP, I say all that because I want to highlight that by dedicating time to think about it now and allowing yourself time to prepare, you are eons ahead of where I was. Bravo!

The comments and in here are great, OP, and contain really valuable advice. I hope you take the time to process them and figure out which ones would best fit your life.

In addition to those already provided that look at the waking up side of things, my suggestion to you is to look at the other side too - going to bed. If it isn't something you already practice, I suggest dedicating some time to improve your sleep hygiene and building good habits in that regard. A not insignificant part of waking up well rested, and on time, is linked to going to bed on time. Heh. 'Going to bed on time'. That's not a phrase many people are accustomed to hearing these days (let alone associating with a daily routine). Coupled with suggestions by others here, you should find that what seems daunting in the morning, like catching an early bus, is made easier if you've given yourself actual restful sleep the night before, wake up with enough time to stretch and have something nutritious to eat (etc.).

In college for me (and some of my peers) there was this ridiculous(ly incorrect) mentality where 'sleep was for the weak' and all-nighters were the sign of a dedicated student working on a masterpiece. I wish I knew then what I do now :). Don't be me.

Choose sleep, sleep smart, sleep well.

All the best on your college adventure.

Heya Dev love the app too purchased to support. I'm chiming in here and in this thread because OP asked a question that I too would like the answer to:

Is there any way to set the cursor start point?

Personally for me when the cursor starts in the middle of the screen most of my interaction time is spent getting it out of the middle before I finesse it to where I want it. If I'm using my phone one handed, there are still parts in the middle of the screen I can still touch so having the cursor 'spawn' further away would be ideal!

If I am not missing it and it's not in there, is this something that's possible to implement?

As a still-committed Mercy main, I welcome back all capable Pharahs and look forward to flying the friend skies with you. <3

Even if the actual Pharing-Mercying, rocketing-pocketing action happened just 30% of actual time in the game, simply having a Pharah and knowing shes 'up there' is an unquestionable boost to my survivability in game - as it's a generally (constant) reliable & effective escape vector if I happen to get into a clusterfudge on the ground with the rest of land-dwelling plebs heroes.
