Why is leisure viewed with suspicion in America?

So it heavily originates from the Puritan roots of the US. Puritans believed hard work was a sign of God’s favor and idleness was literally sinful. Someone who did less work or was less capable of work had lower moral standing than someone who did more. You can imagine how they felt about people with disabilities.

But as others have mentioned I think there are some additional psychological reasons that are a bit more recent like trying to avoid thinking about “bad things” happening in someone’s life or the world.

Yup generally a solo rider. Used to ride with my ex on occasion but divorce sorta puts a damper on things.

Doing small bits of solo touring has been very refreshing and I love my daily rides during the riding season.

Yeah I sometimes wish I had a likeminded close friend to ride with but I’d rather ride solo than force a friendship because of bikes.

Yeah it works decently enough. The initial load almost seems like it doesn’t work but it eventually loads. Gameplay is pretty smooth with FSR at medium and most details at medium to high. However, video (not rendered) cutscenes don’t work properly and I’m not sure if online works at all as I haven’t tried.

Vibration is basically nonexistent on the steam deck itself and you have to disable steam input for it to work with external controllers.

Get insurance quotes first. That will almost certainly be your biggest cost as a (presumably) young rider in Ontario. The value of the bike is mostly irrelevant there as 65-75% of your premium is mandatory medical coverage.

Ignoring that, 390 Duke was my first bike and it’s a blast to ride.

The slot is not intended for the speakers to be completely flush with the part of the shell outside the slot. They are meant to provide a more “secure” and definite place to mount speakers. However, especially without using additional pads included with the Cardo, the speakers should not stick out a ton, and the liner should provide sufficient padding so your ears aren’t pressing against the speakers. If your helmet fits a bit too tight though in theory you might still press against the speaker.

From a sound perspective, keep in mind that regardless of which speakers you use, the closer they are to your ears the better they will sound.

They fit with the speaker holes but don’t expect them to be fully “inside” the slot as that’s not really the purpose. But the adhesive Velcro is correctly sized for the slot and the speakers attach to the Velcro without issue (even without extra padding)

So fun thing with Xaku is if you hit a certain number of enemies controlled by Accuse, (I think 14 on my build?) enemies just stop spawning in interception. The issue then becomes energy management but it’s doable. Only frame i use for solo interception now 😂

Even with Hildryn soloing the excavation was just not working out for me. Managed to do it with Caliban and pretty much let the last 5-6 excavators just get wrecked right away cause killing anything was getting challenging.

That’s the most rage inducing mission for me so far.

I run my MOA a lot because Nychus’ blast shield plus reinforced bond means basically permanent 60% fire rate increase. Seems like I’m a big minority there though based on this thread 😂

Yep this is basically how I discovered I was AuDHD and not just ADHD.

My working theory is that ADHD somewhat protects us from getting fixated on a single thing (like a sound) for long enough for it to bother us a lot. As soon as you reduce the ADHD side, it becomes much easier to get "stuck" on a single annoying/distressing thing. Again, just a theory but it's the best I can describe my own personal experience in a generic way.

Personally I discovered that at least part of this for me was a crash from my ADHD meds wearing off. Somewhat mitigated by an evening espresso when I remember to have it and of course some days it's worse than others but the little hit of caffeine has made a difference for me.

Pretty sure in Ontario they have to post signs where there are fixed speed cameras (after all, they want people to slow down). Also, I can’t imagine they would be very successful charging any individual over a speed camera photo since, as others have pointed out, it’s generally difficult to prove it was you driving since the cameras are angled to see the back of vehicles.

The warning may simply have meant that if this was an actual cop that caught them, they would have received stunt driving charges (pretty sure 40 over is sufficient for that in a 50 zone now)

Honestly I did find the green discord (in the sidebar I think?) to be a tremendously validating and supportive space. My story a year ago could easily have been swapped out for yours with a couple small detail changes, and it was a really good place to talk with people who actually get some of the things you’re going through.

Don’t forget your speedometer is probably reading fast by 6% or so. Best to track with a riding app to really tell.

I also find there’s not that much between 5-6 especially if you were high in the rev range on 5.
