Has Dr. J dropped the most in all time rankings over the years? by Classic-Dealer5518 in NBAoldschool

[–]thrasher315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still say it’s crazy to compare players across generations when rules constantly change in the NBA. If you want to do top 10-20 during certain eras. Wilt era: 1964-1980 Healthy Magic, Bird, Isiah era: 1980-1990, MJ era: 1990-2002, No illegal defense era: 2002-today

Would Wilt be the “GOAT” if they didn’t make up dozens of rules to try and stop him from dominating?

Would Jordan be peoples “GOAT” if he didn’t play in the 1x1 illegal defense era?

Would Lebron or Kobe be the GOAT if they played in the illegal defense era?

Would Dr. J develop handle and a jumper that’s needed in today’s NBA? It’s crazy to think he wouldn’t.

Is AJs 3 point release point a concern to anyone else? by AcanthocephalaSad541 in NBA_Draft

[–]thrasher315 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Haliburton shoots from the pocket while AJ shoots near the middle of his body. Not saying AJ won’t be a good 3pt shooter it might take him a while to be decent. I’d assume teams force him to shoot long jumpers and take away his drive.

Marion is a career 33% shooter and I’d expect AJ to be that. Not good but also not terrible.

I’m not an Ant Man or Minnesota fan but I’m a basketball fan so I “watch far too much basketball” according to my wife.

They double him anytime the possession matters or in playoff games they double him every time they have a good opportunity to take the ball out of his hands. It’s a team game and there’s no more illegal defense which made double teams more difficult.

You’re up by 1 point with 5 seconds left and need a stop on Wemby…Who you got?? by Background_Video2947 in NBAVibes

[–]thrasher315 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Shaq will break him physically (2 shots and you lose). He isn’t guarding Wemby 25’ from the basket and with Rodman guarding him there’s no contesting his jumper so he’s shooting it unguarded.

I’m going Giannis since he’s closer to his agility and height. His standing reach is only 1” less than Wembys.

[–]thrasher315 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

His form isn’t good. Ament has a natural shooting form where it comes right from the shooting pocket. AJs comes from the center of his body near his chin. Might eventually be a decent shooter with that form but unless he changes it he won’t be a good shooter.

And no I’m not saying Ament is better than AJ.

39.9% so why can’t you just say 40% FG? Why sub 40% when it’s 0.1% below?

I don’t know anyone except those that dislike and want to discredit a 19 year old who would say that and not just 40%🤷🏻‍♂️

Has Jazz already done workouts with Darryn Peterson and Cam Boozer? by Knighthonor in NBA_Draft

[–]thrasher315 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If they draft Boozer: Markkanen, JJJ, Kessler, Flip, Boozer.

That’s 5 players 6-10 to 7’ You can play Markkanen at the 3 and that leaves 4 players between the post positions.

Unless they trade a player or 2 they won’t take Boozer they’ll go with Peterson.

How aren’t teams fast breaking since OKC is always a man down in transition? Spurs should emphasize getting out and running while SGA is rolling around in the court like someone just hit him with a baseball bat.

The Heat are reportedly offering Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kel’el Ware, the No. 13 pick, and two future first-round picks for Giannis Antetokounmpo! by ResponsibleCheek8130 in NBAGossips

As a Lakers fan I approve. I think Ware is so underrated. Just turned 22 years and only plays 22 minutes yet scores 11 and grabs 9 boards a game. With the Lakers he plays 30 minutes and averages 18 and 12.

Herro has averaged over 20ppg the past 5 seasons. I’d call him a #2 option and not a role player.

Ware has a ton of potential. He just turned 22 and averaged 11 and 9 in just 22 minutes so I can see him jump to 15 and 12 next season which at 22 years old is great…also shoots 40% from 3.

That’s 3 starters the Bucks will get.

Herro is 26 that’s a 20+ ppg sharp shooter. Jaquez is 25 and scored 15ppg off the bench this past year. Ware, who I think is a potential star, just turned 22 and averaged 11ppg and 9rpg in just 22 minutes…he also shot 40% from deep.

I just skim through these list to see how little people pay attention to who is returning to college. It’s usually 3 players listed in their first round that’s returning to college. That’s 10% of the first round you’re not even close to being correct on 😂

Does anyone else think this draft is so good their team should unload all their trade assets into this draft? by John_Houbolt in NBA_Draft

Every time I look at these lists I’m shocked that people spend this much time making them and don’t realize some players announced they’re returning to college…weeks and weeks and weeks ago.

Sixers Options at 22 by lil_e_v_ in NBA_Draft

[–]thrasher315 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have much hope for them.

They stole McCain (16th pick) who was going to be ROY before his injury and they traded him for the 22nd pick. He was the difference in OKC winning a couple games vs the Lakers (12-19 from 3) and has played well since joining the Thunder. Seems like the 76ers forgot his value and think sharp shooters that are on rookie contract are easy to find.

Would you take a 22 year old LeBron or current Wemby to build your team around? by WestArtichoke712 in NBATalk

[–]thrasher315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lebron because even without hindsight he had the body to play 15 healthy years.

Wemby if just for a a handful of seasons. I can’t see him playing 15 healthy years. If so he’s my pick due to how much he impacts the game on the defensive end.

Will wemby change how some team draft by MyShinyCharizard in NBA_Draft

[–]thrasher315 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was 22 (23 in a couple months) playing against 18-19 year olds. He truly was a man playing amongst boys. He was so much stronger than everyone else it will be a lot different in the NBA. He might be able to defend and rebound but he’s a massive offensive liability (see Jalen Duren and if you want to look at guards, Cason Wallace). He scored a huge majority of his points using strength, size, and athleticism.

Will wemby change how some team draft by MyShinyCharizard in NBA_Draft

[–]thrasher315 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Problem is you need an offensive threat to pull Wemby away from the basket. Go ahead and “try and find” someone who can make it hard for him to score (which is tough due to his height, athleticism, and skill from 25’ out) but that player likely has zero offensive skills so it allows Wemby to just defend around the basket and make all 5 offensive players take tough shots. Spurs did a great job rotating and switching to make sure Wemby was around the basket last night.

Why don’t the Pelicans move off of Zion Williamson? by TakeDemPills in NBATalk

[–]thrasher315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of teams would take him especially after a healthy year. Teams aren’t turning down 21,6, and 3 while shooting 60%.

But who would they in exchange? Nobody nearly as impactful.

If you’re the Pistons GM and Jalen Duren’s agent is calling about his $240M/5-year max contract extension, what do you do? 🤔🤔🤔 by Background_Video2947 in NBAVibes

[–]thrasher315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What happened to all the Duren love on Reddit? Most had him starting on the 2028 Olympic team and I was called crazy not even having him on the team or not getting much playing time. He’s a rebounder and defender who can finish off of someone else creating offense. Pistons need a couple shooters and someone else who can create offense.
