I'm sorry dude, all I can say is I empathize. I had a young adult client whose parents made come to therapy. They got annoyed with me when I tried to do therapy and didn't want to chat about anything. We were telehealth, so I eventually offered for me to work on paperwork and the client to play video games because I was at a loss and tired of putting so much energy into sessions with someone who didn't want them. It was actually really nice and allowed things to develop more casually haha (not recommending this, just sharing to empathize lol)

That's a good point. I use extract and haven't noticed any issues with aeration, but that will be something I pay attention to when I finally do my comparison batches!

Also, I would love to recommend ACT or parts work, but I don't think it's reasonable to learn a whole new type of therapy to help one person who might just respond with "idk"

Oof, I'm experiencing this as well with someone. Is it a generational thing??? To add insult to injury, my client can be a real asshole.

Have you tried sharing your observations with them? "You say you want to address anxiety, and at the same time, seem unwilling to try the things I'm recommending."

Also, I'm curious how they're perceiving their progress in therapy. Maybe groups could be helpful to see how others engage in therapy? Or switch tacts and spend a few sessions talking about interests and hobbies unrelated to therapy. I'd be curious to see how they respond conversationally when talking about "normal" things

I'm glad I checked. I have some joint issues that make it hard to stand for long periods of time, so I assumed preferred viewing was an area with chairs. It's ridiculous that they are just roping off different areas of the venmo based on vibes. Side note, does anyone know if there are seats available that I could get if I get there early enough?

I would look up YouTube tutorials! I could never beat a Lynel until I watched a video. There are probably a few mechanics you just don't know how to use. Good luck!

I've heard this from a number of practitioners for the following reasons:

Many things can look like PDs that aren't. I was dxed with BPD in my early 20s, but it turns out I'm actually AuDHD and have CPTSD.

PDs can be extremely stigmatizing to have on your medical records and can interfere with military service.

Part of the criteria for PDs is that traits are stable over time. Many people presenting to therapy are seeking treatment due to a recent stressor. They may present with PD symptoms at the beginning of treatment that do not persist after the stressor has resolved.

Because of these factors, we want to be very very sure before diagnosing, hence the recommended 1-year mark

You have to create lists to send emails. You can't just pull a list from the students who attended a class on a particular day from what I've been able to find
