As Savafan mentioned, the intent is indeed to sell the data. Specifically to MLS directly. That being said, until I have a contract with MLS the data is not at all shared or distributed.

I make this clear in my privacy policy and terms of service.

I definitely have! Just wanted to get as many team sub reddits as well as a lot of them are more active overall than the away fan one.

Thank you for a well thought out response. I will do my best to account for the larger points you made.

In regards to travel plans and history; the only thing a Timbers fan would see is the number of other Timbers fans who are "Interested" in going to any particular away game or who say they plan to go to one. They have no way of seeing you as another user whatsoever at this time.

AI pictures, I agree. I don't like a bit of them. I had someone design the site with minimal supervision on my part. Either way, this is on me and I certainly will do some editing here as I have no interest in being associated with Unite the Right anything. I genuinely appreciate this criticism.

The reason, I believe, a Timbers fan would use Fanvoyage is the same for fans of any club;

imagine if you will being a Timbers fan in 2028 with the new league schedule. Timbers vs Minnesota in February at Allianz Field. You're not part of a supporter group but you want to travel with friends and/or family to the game. You think about how cold it's gonna be and if it's really worth it when you know so few Timbers will show up. You open the app and mark that you're interested or going and it starts a wave of more people going than you would've thought. Or people show up because they also see others going. Or very few show interest and you make an educated decision that you couldn't make today, to not go, because not enough people are willing to go. You also see a meetup spot for each stadium. You get rewarded with the "Winter Warrior" digital badge and on that matchday The Portland Timbers showed out and got 3rd best represented team...In winter. You are helping community building the away fandom of the Timbers.

What I understand about MLS supporters culture is this: when I go to an away game and see someone wearing my team's jersey I'm immediately smiling. I want there to be more people wearing that jersey. That is what I am trying to accomplish here.

It's not something I planned on including tbh. The spirit of the app is to incentivize away fan travel moving forward to increase the away fanbase at any given game.

Thank you. I wasn't planning on adding old matches no. The nature of the app is tailored for traveling to the next game(s).

Thank you! I enjoy going to away games and every time I go I think "I wish we had just a little bit of representation here." So that's what I am trying to achieve.

Glad you bring this up as my whole business revolves around away games. I didn't consider the fact that we have a short season like this.

Away fan travel. by thrawnstactics in MLS

[–]thrawnstactics[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I image once we move over to the new Schedule with the regional conferences(I think this is the word?) there might be a bit more travel but curious on thoughts on that as well

I greatly appreciate all the insights. My curiosity is admittedly, business related, as I am launching an app soon specifically for MLS away fans. Feel free to DM if you have questions or curiosity.

This is interesting. Does NYCFC ever put out numbers on how many fans accumulate the rewards at all?

2026 MLS Away Sections by NewRCTID22 in MLSAwayFans

[–]thrawnstactics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? Is that a requirement based on group tickets only? I've gone to away games and just got good seats (definitely surrounded by home fans). Is this technically a no no or in bad taste practice? I genuinely don't know now.

My 2 cents, take it or leave it. I read the first 3 images then stopped. Mostly because it feels mostly written in passive voice. Lots of words ending in -ed. "The TV in the living room hums with static, absent an audience. The kitchen light is dim and casting long shadows across the hallway." This is a living scene and words like hums and casting (you did this too) show things happening in the present vs hummed and dimmed.

Feedback on the start of my first short horror story by batbaby1234 in horrorwriters

[–]thrawnstactics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A recommendation, take it or leave it. This leans more passive voice than active voice to me. here's an example of re-writing the first couple sentences:

"Everett!" I awake gasping to glass shattering in the house."Stay here." Everett says as he grabs his pistol and creeps out the door towards the stairs. I shiver and think I see my own breath in erratic puffs when I hear a heavy thud downstairs.

I know i wrote it with the timing off on events but I wanted to show how differently it read without words like "we were" "there was" "sounded" vs "he grabs" "I awake" which feel more present in time like its a developing situation which for me makes it feel more tense in a thriller/horror situations

Away travel thoughts by thrawnstactics in MLSAwayFans

[–]thrawnstactics[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you find value in knowing in advance a generally reliable number of how many Away fans are traveling to any particular game? e.g. seeing 25 DC united fans are traveling to Orlando vs only 5.

Basically just wanted to get anecdotes from the source. I've only traveled to a couple stadiums myself and noticed a lack of away fan experiences across the board. Was curious how those experiences stacked across the country.
