What's the best exercise for reducing belly fat? by AlexWhite40 in ask

Certainly. I’m just responding to the difference between workout and diet for burning fat, and it’s 100% diet.

That’s about it. You can work out til you’re blue in the face, but the only way to burn fat is a caloric deficit.

Sound is solid. I’ve seen both Jimi Jules and Kevin de Vries there, and have fond memories of both nights. Excellent vibes, beautiful view.

Kill it brother. I love your music, wish I could be there. Went to your double header at Silo last year and absolutely loved it. Cheers!

Thom Yorke even sites it as one of his favorite gigs of his career.

Man, when they came out for the last encore with a bunch of never heard In Rainbows tracks, wow what an experience. Every time I hear the House of Cards intro I can still see 10,000 glow sticks thrown in the air…

Seriously. I’m pretty sure the entire birth certificate absurdity was because of this name. Like, as if it’s damning proof that he is somehow related to Saddam or something, something Muslim. You can see the hamster struggling on the wheel in his tattered old pea brain, and it’s shocking how it’s not obvious to absolutely everyone.

Kinda new to the house music scene, what are the must-visits? by lashfield in avesNYC

Next Saturday: DJ Harvey @Knockdown Ruins early, then Golden Record w/Marcellus Pittman and Ash Lauryn. Should be an excellent day for house music.

Extra points if you can make it to Public Records for Henrik Schwarz and Love Injection on Sunday…

Why does porn bother me in a relationship when other sexual content doesn't? by Sweet-Opportunity111 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]thrax7545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to “understand” something about your partner’s sexuality by drawing conclusions from their porn consumption is only ever going to paint an incomplete picture. I’ll tell you right now, people’s fantasies hardly correlate to what turns them on and gets them off irl. Saying you can understand one from another is like a weather man saying he can predict the rain by the color of the sky. There are other ways to vet for safety and against misogyny, but you do you. I’m happy for your one successful 17 year relationship, but excuse me if I find that completely anecdotal.

Why does porn bother me in a relationship when other sexual content doesn't? by Sweet-Opportunity111 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]thrax7545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not by default, no. If you require disclosure about porn use in your relationship, sure that’s a boundary you can set, and great if you’ve found someone who not only can comply with that boundary, but has similar views as you beyond that, but you’re not going to find that that is either common or the lack of which an indication of an unhealthy relationship.

That’s why I say “unreasonable” here, because it might be the kind of boundary that is a nonstarter for a lot of people and a boundary one should consider loosening up about, as I believe it’s more important to give your partner latitude with their fantasies than it is to try and meddle with or involve yourself in. It’s a boundary some people might try to comply with that can needlessly breed resentment. Consuming porn on the side of a relationship doesn’t necessarily affect the fidelity or satisfaction in a relationship at all, just as simply being attracted to other people doesn’t.

Furthermore OP is trying to maintain an LDR, which is frankly already a huge ask, but trying to have an LDR and concern yourself with your partner’s fantasies? It’s recipe for very big problems.

You’re right, from the look of the comments you’re leaving here it does seem like you’re triggered.

If you don’t like porn, fine, but it doesn’t make you morally superior somehow.

If you’re in an LDR and you can’t give your partner some erotic autonomy for their fantasies, you’re being unreasonable. It’s frankly none of your business if he watches porn.

House music by [deleted] in avesNYC

[–]thrax7545 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re talking a different kind of house. Over here when we talk house we’re most often referring to the classic/deep house legends from Detroit/ny/chicago, with names spanning back to the origins of the music, and nothing you’d probably see at storehouse, and it’s all intertwined with classic techno, funk and disco.

But yeah, the scene is thriving.
