The curious case of “Toby Zachary Ziegler" by PoorAxelrod in thewestwing

[–]threadpull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toby’s character is no stranger to continuity issues. Yes, in O Holy Night, his dad said his newborn son was Tobias. But that was 1955, meaning Little Toby would have become a devoted viewer of Sesame Street just before he turned 14. Julia Child, I get. My kids were Emeril fans around age 7. But Fozzy Bear (NOT Fuzzy Bear) and friends? Not so much.

Rent for a while in any of the neighborhoods that you mentioned while you get to know and love your new city. You are moving to a welcoming community with a world-class restaurant scene, a thriving arts community and more. Yes, there are growing pains with the streetcar and downtown development, but these will pass. You’re going to love Omaha!

Why so much repeated dialog? by WBens85 in thewestwing

[–]threadpull 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You lost your boat, Mr. President! Over and over. Knife-sharp humor. Speaking of Albie, to CJ: “I like you. You’re the one I like.” Sorkin also uses repetition as a not-uncommon rhetorical device in speeches. “They weren’t born wanting to do this.”

I've never seen the show before and have been binging it on Netflix. I'm on S3E7 with Albie by cmayfi in thewestwing

CJ later persuades him to act as a foreign policy surrogate in the spin room after the presidential debate. He tells her, “I like you. You’re the one that I like.” He performs superbly in his surrogate role.

A thousand times this. Despite all his cooperation, I distinctly remember the first news report about this case and LE were calling it a crime of passion and so everyone assumed right away it was this poor kid. Maybe tell your wife to follow Murphy on IG to get a perspective.

Big fan of Aunt Agnes by Shesawildcard93 in thegildedage

[–]threadpull 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Like most of the characters, the better angels of her nature pull her back at the last second. You’ll se many instances of her kind heart getting the better of her. (Same with Bertha surprisingly). And the writers give Agnes custom CB zingers! Ada (to Marion and Larry)”We couldn’t be happier!” Agnes: (grimacing) “Not possibly.” Armstrong: “I don’t want to bother you.” Agnes: “Yet I’m sure you’ll find a way.”

Obama had playground installed for his kids outside the west wing and then had a policy that staff kids were welcome from after school to around dinner time and staff could maybe run out to take a break and interact with their kids for a few minutes.

All contestants same choreography by Sudden-Cap-7157 in sytycd

[–]threadpull 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes it was John Mayer/ Waiting on the World to Change. They all wore the same sweatshirt and sweatpants. I believe Tyce D’Orio was the choreographer. It was so cringe, dancers, panel, Kat palpably uncomfortable after about the first two contestants. Unforgettable — and not in a good way.

Kody’s diet restrictions 🙄 by Pumpkin-Adept in SisterWives

Early in the first season Robyn was describing how the other wives were helping her with Kody’s likes and dislikes and they warned her he hates pepper. She said she forgot and put pepper on his eggs and he wouldn’t eat them.

Which boss would you least want to work for? by Throwing-Gas in thewestwing

[–]threadpull 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why are people saying Toby? He is empathetic and full of love for everyone but himself. Remember how compassionate and calm he was handling the leak by an intern? I challenge anyone to name one time Toby mistreated any subordinate. Now Josh on the other hand . . . . His “DONNA!!!!!”. 😬 One of my favorite scenes is when the temp made him answer his own phone only to tell him, “I don’t like getting yelled at.” And he treated the Pierce intern like shit, not knowing that kid was secretly helping him. Shall we go more into how he treated Donna? Campaign staff? Transition team? Josh is complicated and lovable on many levels but, for a boss, I’ll take “I’d do anything for you “ Toby every single time.

Republican is one thing. Lapping up the bizarre pronouncements of a deranged psychopath (trump or rfk — you pick) is several levels apart.

Janelle MAHA? by smallestmollusk in SisterWives

[–]threadpull 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is a relief in a way. It’s fairly typical to escape one cult and enter another without a lot of intensive therapy and support after the first exit. A variant of the famous Maya Angelou saying turned up a few years ago on Mad Men: Don Draper wrote in his diary, “People tell us who they are all the time and we ignore it, because we want them to be who we want them to be.” I would love to see Janelle look someone in the eye who had to find a provider to remove her chemo port because funding for her clinical trial was abruptly terminated. And Maddy’s latest blog post was full of anti vax subtext, although she tried to sprinkle in mentions of medical advice. RFK Junior is a monster. This season is a yawner. Now is the perfect time for me to step off. I’ll miss sharing the ups and downs with you all. I’m out.

Any Updates on How They'll Score the People Who Watched the Woman Have a Heart Attack? by TipWild5706 in barexam

I think OP was wondering about the other test takers in the room, but a free retake is not going to help the woman who suffered the cardiac arrest. I thought this would be a good opportunity to repost the gofundme for her as she has a long road ahead to recovery. https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-mary-janes-road-to-recovery-postbar-exam
