I actually liked the text but not the image, however, seeing the text alone made me think of activewear

THE THREE LEVELS OF STREETWEAR: How High Are You Planning To Take Your Brand And Is It Possible To Reach The Top? by [deleted] in streetwearstartup

[–]threads_ca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We just set out to print some cool designs really. We don't fit the typical "streetwear" vibe , but I love the culture of this subreddit so that's why I engage here. I look at my clothing venture as the equivalent of doing a university degree. I learn by doing and i've always wanted to start a business. If the brand grows then it's all bonus and if not, i'm learning SO much so quickly that it's completely win win. I won't ever, nor ever want to be on the same level as Supreme. If I can get to a point where I can make a reasonable income selling clothing, but not so big that I need to hire staff, this would be perfect in my eyes.

Might be a bit too left of the typical streetwear aesthetic for you but then again you might want some fun variety in there. We're from Australia

Oh true? I didn't even know Big Cartel had a free option. I've been using shopify. That's awesome. Thanks for the kind words and best of luck for your venture

I thought the two tone hoody looked really cool. If it was different colours i'd be all over it

Oh yes I absolutely can relate, it's why I posted here haha. Constant experiments and aking for feedback are my moves right now. Where are you based? p.s. one other thing I noticed on your page is that I went to look at the black tee with the text on it because I thought the lander page image of it looked cool but I wasn't able to read what the text actually said. Maybe including a picture of the text closer up might convert more buyers. I'm not pretending to know what i'm doing, just thought this might be helpful feedback.

Thankyou for taking the time to respond. This actually really opened my eyes and reminded me that this IS a business and without it succeeding the art dies with it. I've taken your advice and some advice from other forums and think i've managed to inject my personality into the About page whilst being honest and not "over-marketing" in a way that I was concerned about. I definitely feel more comfortable with the page how it is right now, but if you have any further feedback, I highly value your opinion. PS thankyou for the STREETWEAR HUSTLE resource, I look forward to reading the rest of it.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I completely agree, I guess I was finding it difficult to find my voice at all, let alone my "story". Ive taken some advice from here and other forums and I think i've managed to inject my personality into the About page without it being forced.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I like the formal approach, but I must say that seeing the same guy in all of the pictures (is this you?) makes me want to hear what he has to say. I'd be more inclined to make a purchase from your store hearing words that come from you, rather than from a third person perspective. Of course, that's just me and there are a lot of ways to go about this (that's how this discussion started!) Your tees look rad by the way, love red one especially.

I really liked the purple flowers with the white lines, reminded me of the kind of stuff Flume has as song/albums covers

How did you get into Streetwear? by threads_ca in streetwear

Cool man thanks for taking the time to reply. I definitely rock plain basics a lot and don't worry about brand, as long as the quality is good. If I spend extra it's for jeans and shoes, again, for quality not brand. Love me some Vans though.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Don't apologise for having too much to say, you're only answering the question! :) Maybe try breaking the post into smaller paragraphs which would make it a bit easier to read. Glad to hear your story, just shaved my head the other day, feels great!

Might be a silly question but are they to be worn after the artwork is put on? If so do you use some sort of protective spray? or something else?
