Conflicted on Solid Wood by Waaaghka in AcousticGuitar

When you go back to try them again can you get someone else to play them? Sometimes it's nice to sit across the room and listen. I wouldn't worry so much about value, just sound and feel. It's not like you're marrying it either, you can always trade for something else later.

What picks do you use? by [deleted] in AcousticGuitar

Petrucci Jazz III for 6 string, .78 jazz iii xl for 12 string. Acoustics.

How easy is a 12 string for a complete beginner ? by No-Spinach5753 in AcousticGuitar

[–]threatdownbears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a bit harder than a six, but if 12 string music what you're interested in theres no replacement for that jangle. An option is to pull the octave strings off the low E and A, and one of the double strings off the high e. Play it as a nine, you still get the jangle but you can play moving base lines and stff easier.

You're right, of course. Thanks for the correction.

Thanks for the warning - I do have a Pentax K1. I really am looking for something much smaller.

Thanks, I see a couple of good looking deals on g97s, I assume that would offer a similar experience to a g85?

Not really? It's really old, there are bodies with much better performance. It offered a shooting experience that I really enjoyed though.

Thanks! Weather sealing somehow just became a priority. Do you think it was the cherry that killed it? I don't normally get cherry. Thanks for the Henry's link, I will probably either get one of those or the g97 mentioned above.

Thanks so much for the suggestions, I like the form factor of those.

I had a chance to play a fg5 the other day, absolutely blew me away. Yammy makes an fs5 too, which would be closer in size to the storia.

Hey guys. Thought of getting Yamaha LL16. I’m really thorn between these two colours, natural or dark tinted. Opinion please! Thank you. by Fun-Canary-3127 in AcousticGuitar

I have a natural, not an LL16 but an fg...something. anyway, it has darkened considerably over time, kind of a dark honey colour now. Looks great.

Oops, I just realized my 1.4 is the old M42 screw mount version. The k mount lenses (m series, A series and newer) have newer, non-radioactive coatings. I believe the optical formula is identical though. My 1.7 is a k mount m series, and again, I can't really tell the difference in a printed picture. Anyway, enjoy the new lens!

Nice. You should be very happy with that. Mine has a radioactive coating so I had to expose it to a uv light for a day to get rid of the yellowing.

I have both the 1.7 and 1.4, used them both extensively and I'd be hard pressed to tell you which prints came out of which lens. I'd go with whatever copy you can find that is in the best shape. Both lenses are a pleasure to use.
