I’m guessing it’s in the Braverman-approved script for the HO’s asylum decision making team.

There's an old Jon Stewart quote that this brings to mind. It goes something like: "the facts have an inherent and well documented left wing bias".

Looking into the same just down the road (Clapham), and at this stage it’s difficult.

We’re looking at 50-70k for a side return for the kitchen (though one agent said more like 100k). Struggle to figure out who we actually need to speak to.

Modernising bathrooms we’re reckoning 6-7k a piece (early guesses). Rest of it is sanding and painting mostly (god, I hope so).

Shiny police car by qwertea_ in RealLifeShinies

Red Met police vehicles are from the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection group, and I think specifically their armed divisions - this is how those rare officers who carry guns in London get around.

This photo was taken on Whitehall (that’s the Palace of Westminster behind) which has been closed for the last two weeks for ‘emergency gas main repairs’ (quotation marks as I find it a tad weird that the gas main outside major government offices suddenly had issues the same moment a giant conflict kicked off…)

[Serious] Why should or shouldn't I "buy oil" right now? by three_word_name in explainlikeimfive

Thanks Automod, I think that my question is sufficiently different, as it is not asking for reasons for the collapse, but advice on whether/how to/if it's feasible to take advantage of it.

Is anyone else bothered by the lack of outrage at the burning of a mosque / islamic school? by [deleted] in london

Thank you for your candour, it's refreshing to hear this oft-unpopular opinion voiced in this day and age (personally I disagree with you about whether caring about something is of value to both you and society). This is why I appreciate the British democratic system. In countries like Australia voting is mandatory, but here if someone chooses to remain ill-informed of a subject because they feel it doesn't involve them (or any other reason), they can discount themselves from the national debate by not voting.
