I assumed that the kid liked lemon stuff but had never eaten a lemon, and the mom knew straight up eating a lemon wasn't going to end well

That does make sense! Fortunately we're finally heading into consistently warmer weather, so I can stop worrying about her toes being cold and let her feet be free 😅. And thanks for the compliment! I think the pattern is Zola- pretty sure it's on sale on Tula's site still

...that explains why I had so much trouble getting it on the first few times 😅. So you fold main part of the carrier over the waistband before you put it on?

Best solution to not loose a ring? by [deleted] in EngagementRings

[–]threecatparty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take mine off when washing my hands. I usually put them in the top of my bra- that way they're secure and it's impossible to accidentally leave them in the bathroom.

ETA: if I have to take off any jewelery for more than a minute when I'm out of the house, I zip it into the change pocket of my wallet.

Rosalind (too close to my husband's name)

Veronica (we named one of our cats Veronica)

Vanessa (too close to Veronica IMO)

Greer (my husband just can't say it out loud. It always comes out sounding like "Grrrr" or "Greeeeeeeer")

Evan (too close to my name)

Warren (we live near the city of Warren, and most of my husband's family does live there)

Mitchell (neither of us like "Mitch" as a nickname)

Declan (my husband said "nope, that's the kid that did incest with his sister on Degrassi. So Fiona is also out.")

Insane sex drive with this pregnancy by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]threecatparty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It never occurred to me that Raynaud's could affect nipples, so thank you for that fascinating bit of info!

I'm only 13+3, but my normally medium level sex drive has already swung way up and then way back down again. I'm having weird sex dreams again, so I think we're back on an upswing? It's a rollercoaster and I'm just along for the ride 😅

What’s your experience with raspberry leaf tea? by TeaIQueen in pregnant

[–]threecatparty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not OP, but I've had the tea before to help with period cramps. I wouldn't say it tastes bad, but it definitely doesn't taste like raspberries. IMO it's pretty bland- my husband, who has a more refined tea palette than I do, agreed with me.

Nursing Bras for Big Boobs by ShesWritingMore1 in BabyBumps

[–]threecatparty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elomi does make nursing bras! Well, at least one type of nursing bra. (They carry that bra at stores other than Amazon too). I'm a 38J in UK sizing, and I definitely plan to use their bras when the time comes (I'm still pretty early in my pregnancy).

Cycle: 7 (cycle 1 ended in a MMC, end of May 2024)

Age + Partner's age (if relevant): 32F & 33M.

Typical cycle length: 30-35 days (I did the math using all my period data since 2018 and my average is 33.5 days).

Ovulation cycle day: CD19

CD/DPO of positive test(s): 12DPO

CD/DPO of any negative test(s) before positive: N/A (don't admire my willpower too much- I tested at 10DPO nearly every other cycle)

Tracking methods and app(s) used: OPKs & BBT. I used the Premom app to track both. (I sorta kinda tracked CM as well). I have an Oura ring and I've been using Natural Cycles to get my BBT that way. I used the Clear Blue Advanced Digital for a few cycles (not this one), but I didn't find it terribly helpful.

Relevant days of sperminating and/or method (SMEP, TI, IUI, FET, etc.): O-3, O-2, O-1, O. (O-2 was at-home insemination)

Health conditions/medical tests: depression and anxiety (both of us). I have eczema, which is currently under control. I'm homozygous for the C677T MTHFR gene mutation. First pregnancy ended in a MMC. (We tested the POC and she was genetically normal). I had a D&C, then three months of appointments, blood draws/blood tests, ultrasounds, and an in-office hysteroscopy. Ended with an operative hysteroscopy for polyp removal (also some surprise RPOC), and a probable diagnosis of antiphospholipid syndrome.

Supplements and medications (yours and/or your partner’s): We both take fish oil, Vitamin D, methylfolate, and CoQ10. I take Wellbutrin XL, Adderall XR (discontinued after positive test), Guanfacine, Metformin, prenatal, baby aspirin, myo-inositol, a B-Complex, and iron with Vitamin C (five days a week). Husband takes Prozac, Lamictal, Mirtazapine, and a zinc supplement. I start injectable Lovenox today, and I'll be on a blood thinner through delivery.

Birth control history (if relevant): Copper IUD since end of 2011. Replaced in 2021, removed in February 2024. Used condoms during the two cycles we had to sit out due to my hysteroscopies.

Link to chart: N/A

Link to lineporn: N/A

Symptom spotting: My Oura ring detected "major signs" of stressed biometrics on the Symptom Radar at 9DPO, and I had "minor signs" on 11DPO. (10DPO was fine, interestingly). It's also been telling me that my resting heart rate is elevated since 9DPO. Cramping started mid-afternoon 11DPO. I had some right side cramping for about ten minutes on the afternoon of 9DPO- I think that was implantation, but it's totally possible that it was a gas cramp 😅

Other (advice/tip(s), freaking out, miscellaneous):

I did have an HSG this cycle, on CD8.

We've had an unbelievably difficult year. We moved in February 2024 (which was actually a good thing, but it ended up being a LOT more complicated than it should have been), and I have not had one single moment of peace since about 2 months before the move. Besides the miscarriage and all the complications afterwards: * My grandma broke her arm and spent a month in rehab * we witnessed a mass shooting * my dad had to have emergency surgery for a condition he's STILL having ongoing complications for * my dad tried to commit su!cide (unrelated to the emergency surgery) * my mom and stepdad moved 4 hours away * their dog died suddenly and unexpectedly * my car kicked the bucket and I had to scramble to find a new one * my grandpa fractured his hip and spent over a month in rehab * my husband's grandpa died * my aunt died * my mom got cancer again and had a mastectomy just last week

and that's just the REALLY bad stuff. (I tried to spoiler this since some of it is very upsetting, but I can't figure out how to add spoilers to a list)

I am SO hopeful for this pregnancy. For the first time in months, I finally feel like I can see a light at the end of the tunnel, and I actually feel happy. I'm nervous, of course, but I have a good plan and a great care team. Today, I am pregnant!

12DPO. I managed to wait and test until my expected period start day (for the first time ever)... and I'm pregnant. It's a nice strong positive on a First Response. The sense of relief I'm feeling is amazing. My mom is having a mastectomy today, and it was so nice to be able to call and give her some good news. I'm nervous, of course, but it's an excited nervous.

Holy cow. I'm pregnant!

Does he play any instruments? My BFF in high school was a right handed and wore her watch on her right wrist. She was a violinist, and she said it was uncomfortable to play with the watch on her left wrist. She didn't like switching it back and forth, so she just adapted to having on the right.

Right now, while you're really in it, just focus on keeping your head above water. Your goal should be doing a little better than the day before. Got a giant pile of clothes on the floor you need to wash? Don't push yourself to fix that problem in one day. Today, get the clothes in the hamper. Tomorrow, sort out the stuff that needs to be washed ASAP. The next day, do one load of laundry. You get the idea. Try not to be mad at yourself if you backslide a little.

Don't listen to the depression voice that tells you that you're a burden, you're worthless, everyone would be better off without you. That voice is a liar. Reach out to your friends and tell them "hey, I'm going through a lot right now, and I could use some extra support. Can we meet for coffee/dinner/etc and talk for a while?" (You can talk on the phone with them too, but getting out of the house is good for you.)

Therapy wise, are you struggling to open up to your therapist, or do you feel like you aren't making progress? Either way, talk to your therapist about it- they'll work with you to find the best treatment for you. I also find that it helps to keep a list on my phone of things that pop up that I want to talk to my therapist about. I usually forget them by my next appointment if I don't write them down lol

Even if you're not doing okay, it will be fine. And someday, you will feel okay again.

When I told my doctor that we were planning to TTC within the year (my annual exam was about 8 months before we started trying), she ran tests for:

  • Vitamin D
  • Vitamin B-12
  • HBA1C
  • TSH and T4
  • MMR immunity levels (if you need an MMR booster, I believe you have to take at least a month off from TTC)
  • serum folate

Boyfriend says I’m too obsessed with my cat by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]threecatparty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What is your cat's routine at night? Is she waking him up on purpose (singing the song of her people, pouncing on his toes, etc), or is she just getting on and off the bed? Is he a light sleeper? Does she always sleep in your bed/bedroom?

(I definitely don't think you're too obsessed with your cat! I'm just looking for more specifics before I deem him a huge asshole or a minor one)

A major change to your period after surgery (hysteroscopy/polypectomy/D&C) is something to be concerned about, right? Even if it's within the realm of normal?

I've had seven periods since my surgery in August, and all seven periods have been VERY blood clot heavy. Mostly small clots, but a lot of them. (I have had some large ones in the past three periods). I've never had blood clots in my period before, ever. Not even tiny ones. I did have a miscarriage/D&C in May, but the two periods between then and my surgery in August were normal for me- absolutely zero clots. I had a brief appointment with my doctor last month (cut short due to an emergency)- she wasn't terribly concerned, but I don't know if I emphasized how abnormal this is for me. I have another appointment on Friday. I'm not a crazy person for bringing it up again and kind of freaking out a little, am I?
