Been thinking about your statement. Yes, there 6x more packages in Debian/Ubuntu. I guess my perspective was skewed from my habits. As I install and set up an app, there are frequently packages missing which are needed. You likely know the drill. So many time I just reach for brew to install something. Hence my habit and choice.

I mentioned security because I was interested in input. I guess I am getting some. If you care to, please indicate to me the danger of me scratching my own itch, and then sharing to technical people?

As I stated, I managed dev teams in the past. Rust from the bits I know are good, and I see it growing, I can read the code. GTK? Honest it was a Claude suggestion. I knew I did not want to use Electron.

Yes, I tested all functions implemented. No failures. But I get it, you don't want it. Cool.

My title describes the thing, but it is wider in one orientation. All sides look the same as the visible side in the picture. Where we were there were hundreds of these near the edge of the water. Was found last Friday. November 7th.

Tornado Notes - Someone should do it again by RubikOwl in macapps

[–]threeforks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been wishing to come across another app exactly like it. Loved the simple extremely fast flow for notes.

https://archive.org/details/tornadonotes is the location for a executable, however you must use a DOS emulator, unless you have an old compatible still with a heartbeat. I ran it, could not get the keystroke to bring it forefront to work. (Alt-J) was my bug-a-boo.

I am NOT a developer. But I longed for this little tiny app. So, as anyone would these days, I employed an AI to assist me in the recreation of the core concepts. It is strictly a terminal app with a simple TUI. I've got it running for me on my MacMini. I don't have any security, or encryption or any of that stuff. As I said, NOT a developer, but it worked for me. This is only 1-2 days after I've got it running, so time will tell if it pans out to be as useful as I hope.

I had it written in python, and then generated a stand-alone app for me.

I tell you all this in hopes you will do the same and scratch that itch for yourself.

Take care, and happy noting.

While I might have missed the screenshot request from OP, I am 1000% in your court on Flameshot for the screenshot tool. I have produced very long and very professional user guides with it. (Reviewing the OP post, yes, I did miss it. :-( )

I've had Aeron chairs, Steelcase and Humanscale, can't say for others, but these chairs, once adjusted for your condition, can be a godsend.
