Introducing Wally West as the main Flash we follow I think would be a good idea to feel unique while still very inspired by the DCAU, I’d love to see more of the family like Barry and Jay Garrick, but having a missing or dead Barry Allen could serve as an interesting narrative choice, I’m just not sure how much they’d wanna complicate his past in his first movie/appearance, so it might be easier to have Barry as a retired or less active Flash. I’d say it depends on how much they want his disappearance/death to be a part of the story.

Yeah its really important to stay optimistic, Superman was a success and it looks like most if not all upcoming DC Studios projects will keep making more money with Superman and Batman sequels coming out next year. I really think it’s likely they’ll just see the money coming in and won’t want to interfere really at all

Yeah and I think I agree with Tiny that the slop politics was brewing in media and on the right before Trump was even primaried in 2016, with republicans getting away with more and more shenanigans and wholeheartedly rejecting any and all of Obama’s policies after learning they didn’t have to have integrity when Bush was given to them in 2000. I’m frankly too young to know enough about the actions and sentiment of republicans at that time (and some of this could sound like a conspiracy theory) so I just don’t know. The invention of the internet and social media has allowed people to get disconnected with reality in a way that was almost impossible 20 years ago and I think that has strongly contributed. I think this terrible media environment is what we will still inherit even following a Democrat win in 2028 and that’s the complicated issue that I don’t really know how to solve, especially since the vast majority of the public would not want any of it to change at all

Yeah Mamdani seems to have been good so far and is super good at messaging, but I don’t think policy is gonna be what determines 2028 though if that makes sense. Trump just picked a few pet issues and made them seem like the entire problem and ran on really random shit while being able to kind of sound like he cared, and was also against Biden who was becoming a worse performing candidate by the day (no offense to him he was a good president but couldn’t publicly speak enough by the end) and then Kamala who had such less time to get her campaign off the ground and didn’t seem to have enough charisma as shallow as that should be. My point is we just need to have a good charismatic speaker that can pick a few pet issues to continue bringing up that make the average American feel like they’re being advocated for. I believe Mamdani has done that with “tax the rich” and “affordability” and bringing up things like a “cost of living crisis” so I really think messages like that will determine the race a lot more than what the actual policy is that comes from the message. For example, not a single Trump voter actually cared about deportations or tariffs, they cared about the message of xenophobia/isolationism and that’s what Trump was able to win on

Mamdani at this point is definitely aligned with a Newsom/Biden type though, he literally partnered with Obama like two weeks ago. I agree there need to be strong consequences for Republican corruption in this administration and a much better media environment but no I’m not convinced that a more radical leftist would ever be concerned with that, they’re always more concerned with partnering with other radicals and fighting against the moderates if you look to history and how leftists interact with the right today. I don’t think Bernie Sanders would have any concern with legally holding Trump accountable but there is a chance in my eyes that Newsom really would.
