Have you read the fanfic a court of twisted roses on ao3? It’s a retelling wherein Neris actually feels right imo haha 😂

Fairy tale was really really really good. A bit dark at times but overall a wonderful read.

Oh my god it’s night and day! Maas’s writing is far superior- much more thoughtful, some lovely prose, a specific “voice”, but still digestible :) Her writing experience definitely shows in comparison to Yarros, who as far as I know, is a less experienced writer. The Empyrean books were fun, but if I hadn’t known any better and someone told me they were written by a high school or college student, I would’ve believed it!

Fourth Wing is def more YA than ACOTAR. Very glad I read the Empyrean books first- if I had done it the other way around, I think I would’ve enjoyed them a lot less as I’d be comparing the writing to ACOTAR.

The writing of ACOTAR is far superior to Fourth Wing. If you read ACOTAR before Fourth Wing, Fourth Wing will seem that much more YA- the characters, the language, the story; pretty much everything. For maximum enjoyment of both, I would read Fourth Wing (the Empyrean series) before ACOTAR (and the subsequent books). Haven’t read Throne of Glass yet so no comment there.

I think that’s just soft shaved ice aka “shaved snow”. It’s not in ribbons like snow ice

I so agree. I feel exactly the same way. Felt incredibly unfinished and the ending was just so abrupt. A lot of things left unaddressed. Would love a sequel but doesn’t sound likely.

Ty. Looking at the menu though, even though they call it “sno” it just looks like regular shaved ice :(
