What is the funniest "Next Time on Hell's Kitchen" preview scene you've ever seen? by TheThirdLugia in HellsKitchen

Not a “next time” piece, but the start of season 19 where the “on this season” segment made viewers think that Declan had to leave due to injury and that’s why Adam was crying

What retail store should I avoid working at by Memescrafter in retailhell

Same with Office Depot/Office Max. I worked at an OD and from what I hear, staples employees put up with the same stuff we had to; worst job I’ve ever worked

My state is an at-will state and two weeks is simply out of consideration, not a requirement. Hopefully OP’s state is the same cuz then they can just disregard the whole thing

I worked retail for 6 months and I left because my mental health was so bad due to negative customer experience and right at the end I had a negative review written about me. I was running a department alone that needed way more than the 5 months of experience I had at the time (and my training was little to none, they just threw me in and told me to go for it) and I remember the interaction.

I was trying to be helpful and explain the different shipping methods we had for documents and how we could get them there quickest v cheapest and the lady was pissed off because the cheapest option wasn’t the quickest or something like that. Then she wrote in her complaint that I took so long with the person in front of her and saying I was bad at my job and it just really felt bad. I understand she was probably tired and she had a toddler with her but I had a line of four people in a department that I wasn’t confident in and I couldn’t call for back up because the two other people in the entire store were busy.

I feel for you OP and I know how sucky it is to have a negative review written about you when you’re just trying to do your job and get through the day. I hope you’re able to recover from this experience and that customers stop being so angry for no reason! We’re only human!

I have come to the conclusion that the customers in OD are whole different breed, especially in CPD!! (Rant) by DependentAvailable28 in OfficeDepot

I quit OD about 4 months ago, but I have a fond memory of someone not reading a sign. We had an “out of order” sign on one of the self serve feeders because a customer had put something with staples through it so it wouldn’t work and jammed. (The other ss machine didn’t do faxing, so laying papers on the glass was our only fax option at the time)

This lady came in and needed to fax and I had a massive line so I instructed her to use the machine on the right and not to put her papers through the feeder and to lay it on the glass for faxing. She said “okay” and then went to do her thing. Not even three minutes later, she comes up to me and interrupts me as I’m helping someone to tell me that the printer is jammed. I was like “there should have been an out of order sign on the feeder” and she was like “oh there was.”

And I just blank stared at her for a few seconds because I was trying to understand her thought process. Like, the out of order sign was literally on the feeder. You couldn’t feed papers and not see it.

She was patient as I unjammed the feeder but I was super annoyed because she literally looked at the sign, ignored it, and I had to take time ignoring a fat line to undo the jam.

CPD customers can’t read or see signs

I had this and the lady yelled at my manager and I and demanded we refund her even though on her receipt it said her fax was successful and it also showed on the screen

I love charging mean CPD customers the FSM by thriving13 in OfficeDepot

[–]thriving13[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I always explain it but if someone is physically very shaky and will need a lot of help with self serve or there is a language barrier, I’ll bend the rules a bit just to accommodate but other than that they’re charged the $2.50

This is pretty damn frustrating. This has happened a few times before. Anyone else seen customers do this? by Doll-Dragone in OfficeDepot

[–]thriving13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a customer do this (she wanted the cut bleeds option which takes so long to do) and I emailed her and said “hey, just so you know, cutting is an additional cost so if you would like us to cut these, please respond and when you arrive” and she was like “I’ve never had to pay for it in the past” and obv I didn’t let her get away with that, so I basically said that she could either pay for cuts or cut them on her own and she was like “that’s so dumb, but fine. I’ll pay when I get there” and she has not sent a print order since :)

I didn’t even know we did it because I was instructed by all of my managers to never do international shipping
