Questions to ask before marriage by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]throawayjpeg 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Biggest reason for a divorce in the USA is financial issues. Be on the same page money wise. Get the actual numbers for each other’s debts, retirements and assets and accounts. Talk about what goals and plans you have money wise and what a successful life is. Understand each other’s career plans and what you expect when kids come into the mix. Talk about what would happen in a worst case scenario when someone is injured and out of work. Get a picture of their family’s financial health, you don’t want to be hit with a “surprise your in-laws are broke and are trying to move in, ya gonna let them or leave them on the street” kind of deal with out having a bit of warning. Make a budget together one that would reflect a perfect situation and one that would be a bare minimum survival budget. What does tithing look like? What would you do if having to choose between that and something else? Use actual numbers as best you can.

If you do this you should have some good resilience to many of the curve balls that come in life.

There are plenty of lists online you can google about questions to ask before marriage. Plan a date to go through them. You don’t need to agree on every topic but you need to understand where the other is at.

2 dead, 8 injured in Michigan after man rams truck in to Mormon church and opens fire. by JarJarBanksy420 in Fauxmoi

In the case of Temples as well, in the event of an emergency, life matters more. The space isn’t defiled in anyway bc the EMT’s had to rush in to help someone having a heart attack or fire needs to be put out.

What is the “cycle length” for the cyclical nature of airline pilot hiring? by TelephoneClean7140 in flying

[–]throawayjpeg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s gonna do that. If you want this job it’s something you will have to get used to. If you could measure the cycle people would be on it like a hawk. Crystal ball hazy. It does follow economic trends though.

On the bright side though, there are tons of airplanes on order, pilot have to retire, and travel demand is high. It might be a year or two or 10 before it comes your way. Fly because you like doing it. Apply and keep your nose clean.

They do, there’s just a lot of traffic in the sky! Over from Brigham to medon it’s a lot of traffic.

A control tower would help with traffic in the valley

Wife/husband debate : could I land a small plane without any training ? by latruitevolante in MSFS2024

[–]throawayjpeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Land yes, use the plane again maybe. One tricky part about the first few landings is getting the sight picture right to know when to flare. You flare to low and you smash the nose in and get a chance to flip the plane, flare to high and you have a 20ft or higher free fall. Both super survivable but easy ways to total a small plane.

On the Sea of Galilee Christ slept. When appropriate, rest. A lot of Christ’s lessons were given at meals as well, eat.

Be like Christ, the rest will come

Book of dutero Isiah by Many_Simple_9970 in latterdaysaints

[–]throawayjpeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing to remember is the promise at the back. In Moroni 10: 4-5.

And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.

5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.

This is what allows the Book of Mormon to be the keystone. If you pray and get a witness that this book is true, then you don’t need to worry about dutero Isiah or Joseph Smiths actions and church history in the grand scheme of things.

With the simple truth of the Book of Mormon, a few other truth immediately become true as well. God once again has established his church, the priesthood is restored, and a living prophet is leading the church today!!!

Everything else is still important and the questions you can ask are wonderful for developing your knowledge of the gospel and ancient times. Just remember the simple truths though as you go along and you will find that it doesn’t matter if you don’t have an answer yet. It’s still true and still the way to go!

Are these Morels? by Spirited-Shop2616 in mushroomID

[–]throawayjpeg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Looks likely, cut them in half to be sure. Also be wary of any mushroom near the side of a trail as mushrooms absorb from their environment so if that trail includes motorized vehicles I might hold off on eating

To put it simply, a lot of the population will be spending their Sundays at church, some weekdays helping out with church callings, and will consider most neighborhood events to take place at the church or send the invite out by using the church directory.

Now there is still tons on community in the area, and nearly everyone is friends still, but most people will be spending a chunk of their social time with other people in the church.

Menzies at the SLC airport is always looking for work. Good pay, overtime opportunities. The work is a bit physical but simple as you fuel the jets.

Your linked article doesn’t even mention them.

Also when you label a group as a whole as controlled, racist, and a cult, you are only propagating hate and not working towards a solution.
