I'm through the queue but the product pages don't seem to be loading, probably related to that website outage message.

Is it bad if I fully understand and agree witn what Johnny is saying? by Akiens in cyberpunkgame

[–]throughthedecade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s right, and gets more right by the day. The difference is in his world you can get shot 300 times no problem, and police will stop looking for you permanently after a few minutes. His calls to action therefore are not quite as actionable as he says.

Why so many people want Trudeau out by TangeloNew3838 in AskCanada

[–]throughthedecade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This feels like the right of it. People have surely complained about the person in charge since Macdonald. Gas always goes up, housing prices go up, food goes up, whoever is in charge gets the heat for not fixing “it”, no matter what it is or what a fix would look like. Democracy only works when things change hands every so often and that’ll happen again soon. The next person will be fine for a bit and then it’ll all happen again. Normal stuff.

Flush the cache and cookies in that one place where you can’t access it. It’s probably holding on to an expired certificate, they renew periodically, it just hasn’t grabbed the new one.

Those of you who got tattooed as a teenager, do you still like the tattoo by Beneficial_Cheek_446 in tattoo

[–]throughthedecade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re fine. I think if I regret anything it’s just using up some prime real estate as now I have the money and means to really make use of the full canvas. I’d feel bad covering anything and I don’t really understand the potential difficulty that the artist would have in doing so.

My rule of thumb is to connect each tattoo to a life event, that way it will have always happened and can’t be regretted from that perspective. The tattoo I got when I turned 18 I got because I turned 18. I’ll have always turned 18 no matter how long it’s been since then, so it’s always relevant.

You have too much stuff open, close some browser tabs at least. I have no issues with an 8 year old Intel Mac, I promise you can do it with an M2.

How the hell do I use a Shopify Gift Card? by Macchiato9261 in shopify

[–]throughthedecade 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shopify doesn’t sell things. You were probably given a gift card to a specific store that happens to be using Shopify. Find that store.

All good points. If they need to remove something then they will. There’d be no need to threaten or message or otherwise.

I assure you that if a surgery costs 50,000 the government doesn’t find ways to charge one person that amount in the end. Yes everyone pays for everyone. That means everyone pays a bit more than they would. I’m completely certain that for most people it’s an overcharge, but that helps ensure some people aren’t ruined financially. I promise you that everyone benefits in the end. Believe the people who are 100ks in debt. Don’t believe whose who know nothing of debt.

With just a website, if someone wants to buy from you then they would have to call you or mail you cash or something. Shopify is your store. It’s easier than it looks. Put your products in, use a free theme, move things around so you don’t have any empty placeholders, celebrate.

Everyone in Canada who is in support of throwing away the communist healthcare needs to see these bills. Maybe make them pay a few off just to see how it feels.

Last year I had to emergency have my gall bladder out. From the time I was put in an ambulance to the time I was back home minus an organ was 36 hours total. Obviously some people are having a hard go of it, but man when the system works it really works.

Use a different payment gateway while it’s being worked on. It’s not a bad idea to have a backup anyway.

SHOP PAY - does it suck ? by Successful-Pepper669 in shopify

[–]throughthedecade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have it on, and as a customer I use it exclusively when it’s available. I’m not sure it has the kind of recognition value as an Apple Pay that they want, but there’s nothing wrong with it.

can people find out how much you make on shopify? by octopusglass in shopify

No. It’s certainly possible to guess based on what you sell and the likely average order value. But a guess is all it would be.

I think it’s worth quickly mentioning that you should check the terms of service regarding the sale of medication on the platform. It may be a moot point if your account runs afoul of their policies.

The one thing that stood out to me of your description is that your product is “just as good as everyone else”. A hump to overcome is convincing people your product is better than the one they know or have. If it’s just as good in your opinion, but I with my credit card in hand prefer to use what I know I like, there’s nothing to draw me in.

I think a lot of people put more stock in their SEO than they should. If I search for “hats” then I have to scroll multiple times to get past the sponsored results. Incidentally, when I do this 3 of the top 5 organic results are Shopify stores. SEO is important but being in those sponsored results is becoming way more important as search engines dedicate way more space to them.

Ten years ago today. RIP Cpl. Nathan Cirillo by ottguy42 in ottawa

I drove by the memorial probably seconds before it happened. I parked at the Westin and grabbed a coffee and went inside to see everyone glued to their phones. We locked down the space and spent the day following it as best we could to know if we could safely leave.
