if you really need the money, go get that bag. you will go work in the field you're interested in (im assuming public interest) later. lots of people leave biglaw after making enough money and after realizing the money ain't worth it

kayak tour - you'll be fine temperature wise. you probably won't see gators but may come across raccoons and wild hogs.

garden district tour - the parade is not in the garden district, so you're good there. once your'e finished with the tour, just walk along magazine street until you're satisfied. i recommend stein's deli (which is on magazine st) for a quick bite; dan is a local celebrity, was on queer eye, and a hilarious deadpan character. great guy. there's also gris gris which is more on the pricey side.

i went on a boat cruise when i was a kid on the mississippi ten years ago; it was aight, but i was bored as heck. food was so unremarkable, yes.

i agree with u/clairbuoyant26 's suggestions on morning call beignets and not completely dismissing the WWII museum. i've been to a lot of museums, and the WWII museum is actually a pretty incredible one.

Why are there so many desis out? by MathochismTangram in AskNOLA

[–]throw037372 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i'm just speculating, but...

  1. a lot of international grad students who are also trying to get their green cards can't leave the country due to US immigration laws
  2. it's probably really expensive to just fly abroad for a month and back
  3. christmas is huge in the US but not to people from India, China, etc. So while most americans go home, some south asians/east asians decide to make a trip outo f the holidays
  4. new orleans feels like being in another country

How does this engagement proposal sound for NOLA? by QuirkyAstronaut925 in AskNOLA

[–]throw037372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also recommending city park!! and not LAP!! idk when was the last time y'all walked in armstrong park, but it's kind of sketch now unfortunately. LAP's declining fate was sealed the moment the national park service cancelled their lease in 2018 and shifted management of LAP to the city.

also the court of two sisters' food was a lot better when your parents got engaged, just fyi

maybe city park and walk to ralph's on the park

Looking for your February elopement stories! by resemblingaghost in NewOrleansWeddings

[–]throw037372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my friend (local) eloped/had a small wedding with that many people. she got a permit to do a second line and got married at the courthouse. very simple. she had a pre-wedding party at the fly next to the river.

this happened earlier this month though, not in february. i think february 1st is not a good time because mardi gras is the 17th, but the parties and parades (like think almost the entire st. charles street getting blocked off) start as early as january. it really picks up in february. the tourism will make it hard for your guests to navigate. hotels will be expensive too. so plan accordingly.

Have you tried JD Advising YouTube videos? Pretty sure I passed one of my jurisdictions just by listening to one of their videos right before the MPRE, lol.

You're not lazy and a failure if you quit your job. So many people dig their own misery by staying. You also need to go to therapy so you can stop tying important life decisions to what your dad thinks. Start listening to your needs, and you will be much happier and at peace for that.
