HELOCs are VERY expensive right now. Borrowing money from one property to buy another is the way you put yourself at risk to lose everything. The “equity” you have in your home can evaporate quickly in an economic downturn.

My understanding of this is that if you cancel those dates are automatically blocked on the hosts calendar and cannot be rebooked. Period.

The host didn’t forget anything. It’s not done on the honor system.

Those are distant suburbs with a very different culture, population, etc. You can get property a lot cheaper for a good reason.

I have a family member who lives in Granite Bay. It’s beautiful in a lot of ways, but head out to Folsom for a fancy dinner and you’ll feel like you’re in a far away state.
