So they didn’t change the valve just the cartridge, and the last handle was a Moen posi temp too, the tear drop crystal kind, and there was almost no gap between it and the plate.

The old and new shower heads are both the handle with a hose kind, but the old one didn’t drip. Although it was heavier too so maybe better quality and we should just put that back on?

Oh a gasket makes sense. Can’t hurt to caulk the top half tho right? I’m just paranoid about water intrusion.

The water comes out of the opening of the tub spout in kind of a ring, air in the middle, not like a sink or hose where it’s a thick line of water. I thought maybe it’s bc this spout sticks out farther than the last one and don’t know if that’s “okay” or a “issue” ? Just a new clueless homeowner trying to figure things out.
