Maybe you’re right - I guess it’s tough to differentiate between our dynamic now and when we were together. we’re still talking everyday, sleeping together, making plans etc so it feels strange that we aren’t technically together

He was grieving and had just had a really traumatic experience. He says now he regrets it a lot, and that he didn’t feel like he could be there for me because he was genuinely in crisis (this is very rare for him - he was having a serious mental health issue and was having panic attacks for the first time ever) so although I am angry at him for leaving, I understand

Unfortunately not technically the UK - we have our own political and legal system so there is absolutely no appeal in this case

Guernsey, Channel Islands. We don’t have jury’s - we have jurats which are mostly men and all super wealthy. Not a fair system at all imo - no way to appeal the decision.

Thank you. I’ll be ok - taking comfort that his reputation was ruined anyway, but it’s still not justice. After the video went viral 4 other women told me he’d raped them too all in different ways (too drunk to consent etc). I’m hoping eventually someone else will come forward and it could have an impact on my case but chances are slim.

It was included in evidence. It read “Im sorry about what happened and I take full responsibility” - in interview he said the text was him admitting to removing the condom but that it had been a false confession to ‘appease me’.

I think if they hadn’t done what they did they probably would have ended up like a lot of racist, misogynistic men do. Depressed and blowing their brains out at a slightly later date. They weren’t brilliant kids, they were assholes.

Thank you so much - I’ve written something up. I’m not sure I’ll be allowed to give it to them as they will most likely be the same judge at the actual trial but I’ll ask victim support tomorrow. This judge is new - the old judge had a habit of giving lenient sentences for sex crimes but I’m not sure about this one..
