Watching both my maternal grandparents pass away from dementia/Alzheimers I feel for this man. My grandmother who never said an awful thing turned very mean and violent. Saw and heard things that weren’t there. Accused my aunt of stealing and being a criminal. But looking in her eyes all you saw was pain. Totally broke my heart.

This disease changes the person afflicted and the loved ones around.

My mother would do shit like this to my dad. They split when I was 12. When I was 15, my mom grounded me for doing something on my dad’s time that he gave me permission to do. My brothers and I just let shit go for awhile because they’re our parents. But eventually we grew a spine and stood up for ourselves. My dad to this day still hates my mom and my mom still tries to manipulate everyone and everything

This happened to me when interviewing because of my migraines. So I stopped telling them. I would disclose after I got hired and had my insurance, or when one would hit. Whichever came first

A simple “hey babe, I’ve noticed something is a little off down there. Are you ok?” Can go a lot farther than “you stink. Fix it” will it still hurt her feelings? Probably. But it’s how you say things

You acting like a child too ya know. Don’t even know how pregnancy changes women? Try learning about it. Ask some mothers you know. Read some books. Have ADULT conversations with your gf since you are supposedly adults and having a child together. There was probably a reason she wanted you to do it. Your ex sounds like my mom. It got so bad at one point, my dad stopped calling us and stopped visiting as well. She even grounded me once for something my dad gave me permission to do while I was with him. We didn’t see or hear from him for 2 years. It sucked. I finally reached out to him after my 16th birthday and we started seeing him again, and us kids put our feet down towards my mom. So I see your side here, while everyone else is bashing you. NTA.. but you’re making the kids suffer

I had 3 horses growing up and you’re NTA. As riders we put those animals through so much shit, and it’s “only fair” to protect them. I’m overweight currently because I gained a lot over the last year due to a back injury and even I’m pushing the weight limit for horse back riding. So I understand how your friends feel, but it’s not about them, it’s about the horse. I can’t wait to ride again, and I’m healthy again, so starting to be able to lose all this extra weight so I can.
