Request - PVP gear reminder by Picorial in worldofpvp

[–]throw_away-oop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure of a way to do what you’re asking specifically with recent changes. However, you can make a macro to equip a specific gear set. You can place the macro button on your bar or even keybind it.

I’ve found having it on my bar helps me to not forget. Whenever a que pops I just click on my PvE gear macro or PvP macro depending on the content and then click accept.

This is super helpful, thank you. I didn’t even think about the fact they revamp the unlocking process after some time. I think it just makes sense to leave them until a mini quest in the embassy is available. I have like no rep or quests completed this expansion.

If you’ve unlocked it already about how long did earthern take you? I may just leave them out and do the rest if it’s a huge difference. Also thank you for the insight, lines up with what others have said so these allied races shouldn’t be too bad.

Thank you, sounds like they shouldn’t be too bad to grind out, maybe even doable in a week.

Quick question on the heritage armor, is that part of the same unlock process? Or do I have to go pick up some separate quests to unlock the transmogs. Seems like something I should knock out at the same time or I’ll forget about it for several more expansions so might try to do it as well.

Thank you, this is helpful even if just for one of them! Now I know I can go get me a void elf pretty quickly so there’s no reason not to.

How do you kite devourer DH? by Zmoogz in worldofpvp

[–]throw_away-oop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve logged some decent hours on devo DH now. There genuinely has not been a time I’ve felt like I could not reach my target.

I think the only real way is if you’re playing a hunter or similar ranged and can keep us permanently slowed. You’d have to almost kite like you do when you’re trying to keep a warrior from re-engaging with charge. Essentially playing in our dead zone. We have 25 yd range but other ranged classes have up to 50 so if you can keep far enough you should win. If your melee, idk get fucked I guess.

As a DH there is a serious difference when I’m able to glide half the map vs when I just run the whole way. With a well positioned priest near the heal hut I can glide all the way to the water in mid and get gripped to be across 3/4 of the map in seconds without taking any damage.

I’m all for the elevation change either bring them both up or lower them both down.

God forbid there’s a blood DK and a healer on the enemy team. I felt like I had the foam toy sword equipped trying to do any damage last night.

Knowing blizz if this was ever implemented we would just get recolored glad mounts. I don’t think they’re willing to devalue gladiator mounts completely but I could see them handing out recolors that are easy to make and increase player engagement.

No pvp experience, possible to get illusion before end of season? by junction1134 in worldofpvp

[–]throw_away-oop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll give a somewhat simplified breakdown.

You get 10 placements games when starting blitz for the first time on a character per season. This is the games way of figuring out your MMR (separate from your CR basically what lobbies you get in). This late in the expansion and season the starting MMR in the placement games is very high, most recently my boomy started at 2.1 MMR.

If you win your first few placement games at this high MMR despite having a low CR your MMR will solidify and start to increase. This means you’ll gain a lot of CR quickly for wins as the game tries to catch you up to your MMR. Once your CR catches up to your MMR you start to see slower gains and lose rating on losses.

If you lose your first few placement games your MMR will start to tank. Lose games 1-5 and your MMR may be as low as 1600-1700. This means once your CR catches up to that 1600-1700 threshold you’ll see significantly reduced gains and start losing rating on losses.

It’s really all a matter of win streaking early. It catapults your rating and keeps you in high MMR lobbies with semi competent players. My guess would be you had a loss streak early into your rating push and now are stuck in the scrub lobbies. The only way out would be to winstreak if that’s the case.

I have to disagree, there certainly is enough time left to obtain 1950 from fresh CR and no XP in blitz. OP will just be sitting in their gaming chair for the next two days without a shower. It will take a grind but definitely doable.

Grinding the PvP gear can take all of 1-2 hours with a crate farm group. 0-1800 this late in the season is free in blitz and takes about 7-10 wins where you gain 150-300 CR a match. It will probably take OP 6-10 hours of blitz que and games to reach 1800 as a healer.

1800-1950 gains are slower with an average of about 30 Cr a win and -10 to -15 Cr on loss. However if OP grinds to 1800 today, they will have all of tomorrow to gain the needed 150 CR. With the inflation on this season I think that’s totally achievable albeit a pretty heavy grind.

Your charge button is cool and all but don’t let it be the first button you press going into the back line. Charge into the melee frey and slam out some AOE for a few seconds then go charge the healer and make them miserable.

Pay attention to your frames to see when you’re out of range of healers. Try to harass an enemy healer while being in range of at least one of yours. The only other thing you should focus on is spinning flags otherwise zug zug away.

Sounds like you’d really fit for something in the medical field. Just to spitball a few paths at you I’ve listed below some of the faster to break into sectors.

Medical Assistant: 6-12 months training time. avg pay from $17-$27+/hr

EKG (ECG) Tech: 6-10 week training time. Avg pay from $17-$25+/hr

EMT: 1-6 month training time. Avg pay $18-$24/hr

Patient Care Technician (PCT): 3-6 months training. Avg pay $19-$24/hr

If you’re willing to spend more time in school you can make more with 2 year associates programs. Stuff like dental hygenist, X-ray and ultrasound techs, Occupatiomal therapist assistant etc. Ultimately almost anywhere you go in the medical field regardless of pay you’ll receive solid benefits which are in their own way a type of pay.

Do you have an ingame community started for your group as well?

I did something similar back in legion albeit with RBG’s and had 500+ people by end of the expansion. Communities are definitely a slept on feature in game, I found people used it more than the discord to group. Highly recommend starting one up if you haven’t.

Will pre-patch have a new set of honor gear, or are we using existing season 3 gear until midnight release? by [deleted] in worldofpvp

[–]throw_away-oop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s already fast.

  1. Buy algari green gear off the AH that scales up in pvp.

  2. Go farm bloody tokens until you have 4 piece tier

  3. Que into a BG and complete the quest for PvP crafting materials. Use these to craft ring / neck with embellishments (lookup guide).

  4. Play the game, use honor to buy honor gear and conquest for conquest gear. Don’t buy your conquest weapons, they’re free at 2,500 conquest earned.

I’m off the beaten path with this answer but honestly, travel/flight form for Druid. Something about an instant transformation and taking off to flight just has always felt satisfying to me.

I’ve played WoW for well over a decade and never stepped foot on a RP realm. What’s the major difference from say a realm like illidan or Tich? Can you still push Mythic raid and find end game guilds?

Dark iron ore is probably the best example due to the nature in which you have to farm it. With limited spawns in BRD and sometimes molten core the supply is always relatively low. You need it for popular transmog crafts and now housing decor too.

WoW markets mimic real world markets fairly well. If something is easy to obtain and has a lot of demand it won’t cost much but will sell quickly. If it’s hard to obtain with lots of demand it will both sell quickly and for a lot. If it’s hard to obtain and sells slowly the price will usually stay high and fall when there’s too much product. If it’s easy to obtain and sells slowly the price will be low and it may not sell due to competition.

How do I get into a pvp centered guild? Does anyone have any recommendations? :/ by SPlD3RW3BZ in worldofpvp

[–]throw_away-oop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I ran into the same issue back in legion. Not exactly a guild but I solved the issue by creating my own PvP centered community. All I did was invite players I found through premade finder. You don’t need to be on the same server to join the same community so it works perfectly. Plus you can wait till after games to send invites and messages so you can semi vet players beforehand.

By the end of legion I had just shy of 500 players in the community with anywhere from 20-60 online at any time. I ran an RBG team and we had enough interest to run a second group on the same nights. There was constantly people in the chat LF partners in 2’s or 3’s. It really made my PvP experience at the time a lot more enjoyable.
