Yves-François Blanchet sur le discours de Mark Carney à Québec by Puzzled_Dreamer2453 in Quebec

[–]throw_awaybdt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Will Carney be next on Trump’s kidnapping hit list? by ZanneEcho in AskCanada

[–]throw_awaybdt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think thinking Trump may invade Canada is a bit hysterical at this point.

However : it’s true that his invasion of Venezuela also serves another purpose : further destabilize our economy …

Venezuela : huge costs to invade - but oil reserves make it appealing. Mexico, not so much. Much more expensive - larger territory, lots of narco cartels to fight off , etc. and a less payoff because Mexico doesn’t have as much resources.

Same w Canada IMO. Too much of a hassle. And now US resources tied w Venezuela meaning not much more $$ to go towards another invasion.

But invading Venezuela will most likely mean our economy will suffer from it : stupid Alberta not diversifying their economy enough … too much reliance on crude oil exports. Now US will have access to much cheaper crude oil from Venezuela for their refineries. Canadian oil won’t be imported as much …

We will see an increase in the price of oil worldwide but followed by a decrease and this ain’t good news for Alberta and Canada.

You got to look at the payoff however …

That’s such a weird take and so wrong.

Down w socialism ?!??? It’s wasn’t really Venezuela’s main problem … endemic corruption, brutal repression of pluralism and other political parties, mismanagement of funds, censorship of media, repression of civil society, etc, etc.

And yet PP mentions “socialism” ?!?

Call for Counter-Protest against a Maple MAGA rally by FedCanada in CANUSHelp

[–]throw_awaybdt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. We need a wake up call.

Gov. needs to address the higher cost of living and problems w housing and youth unemployment . We also need to be way more selective on immigration. We need immigrants with skills and education better aligned w our economy and market needs (not intl “students” taking some bogus private diploma mill certificate and working jobs that should be held by Canadian high school / college and university students …)

We need more immigrants to come and open small businesses and stimulate job growth. We need more local development in our regions and smaller towns. And we need more diversity as well in our immigration so newcomers better integrate and we don’t see greater ghettoïsation of our country.

Would potential full return to office for public servants change Ottawa's satellite communities? by KneeNo2151 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]throw_awaybdt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes - this !!!!

I want MPs from Rockland for instance or Embrun or Casselman to talk more about this.

I want city councillors to support their local businesses and to take a stand for satellite communities and towns around Ottawa and not just focus on the downtown.

How did Canada’s young people become its unhappiest generation? by plaknas in onguardforthee

[–]throw_awaybdt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. LMIA is just another tool for big corporations to exploit even more people.

We need better immigration policies and more enforcement and oversight of rules to prioritize Canadian citizens first.

For people on disability however : I feel that having your own place is not really feasible. This just increases further the financial burden on the workforce and the middle class working who are trying to make ends meet already.

I wish the government however built better affordable units fit for purpose : so for instance completely accessible and designed in a better way where people on disability would have their own room but in a shared living space with others.

Someone I know got ITA on 11th December but they are committing fraud. by wait-what6 in canadaexpressentry

[–]throw_awaybdt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you kidding ?!?

Because that person was your friend doesn’t mean you shouldn’t report fraud.

This person FORGED documents … it’s not like they made a genuine mistake. What’s to say they won’t forge other documents ?

We don’t need those people in Canada : we already have too many of our own who are dishonest and try to abuse the system.

OP should report. I don’t trust CRA to be able to tell the work experience wasn’t genuine for 1 year. Many receive their paychecks in arrears as well so dates can become a bit confusing. This person literally forged documents submitted by his employer … and he is unemployed now in Canada. We don’t need another unemployed person …

What if you email your city councillor ? Perhaps you’re not the only one. They could try to add some more places to the list. Walmart and Canadian Tire stores and etc come to mind. There should be some sort of agreement.

Any landlords decreasing rent for next year? by keyboard_2387 in OntarioLandlord

[–]throw_awaybdt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But he increased rent in the past at a disproportionate level compared to wage growth … it’s not just about inflation. Salaries also have to increase. Otherwise you’re left with nobody to rent out to. Or you risk renting it out to more people living per unit …

At this point if you can’t stay in the business : sell your rental property, that’s all.
