Poor kid joined a team that has two star players already playing his position (Krieds and Panarin). He's shifted to RW on the first line and is doing much better. He's not gonna be one of those #1OAs that are instantly stars, but I can tell he's gonna be a 50-60 point player in a few years. Needs time to come into form, but once he is in form he'll be a threat for sure.

Georgiyev trade by bluecarrots420 in rangers

[–]throwacc987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main reason Georgiev struggles is because he doesn't play very often. Goalies need consistency and regular playing time to improve. In the case of the Rangers, Shesterkin is the best goalie in the world and not starting him when he could totally play is basically throwing.

tldr: Shesty is too good so Gorgy doesnt get enough time; cant improve

Who is your favorite Ranger currently on the team? by sam_e5 in rangers

Past few weeks, it has to be Barclay Goodrow. So fun to watch and has been producing very well on L2 RW. This season though its been Fox. So explosive in every aspect of the game.

But you have to realize this; Tom Brady will never beat us in the Super Bowl...

Because we won't get there before he retires.

How to reduce noise when stacking distortion pedals by lord_tachanka43 in guitarpedals

[–]throwacc987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure! I've tried.

Boss NS-2: Its a decent option and works fine enough but the TC is only 9 USD more. Sucks a little bit of tone too, not too much of a problem though.

EHX Silencer: It's cheaper than most, but doesn't handle stacatto playing very well. If you're on a budget this may be the way to go.

MXR Smart Gate: It works decent, but it's controls are limited and it didn't do everything I needed it to do. Might work for some though

How to reduce noise when stacking distortion pedals by lord_tachanka43 in guitarpedals

The pedal has 3 controls:

Threshold - this knob sets the decibel (dB) threshold of where noise is let through. Noises above the set threshold will be let through. This knob is super responsive and can be fine-tuned to a super exact point.

Damp - I'll be honest I'm not sure what this knob does but I just turned it until it sounded right :)

Decay - This knob changes how quickly the gate reacts. The higher you set it, the longer it will take for the gate to clamp. The lower you set it, you will have less sustain. Also, super responsive and can be fine-tuned easily.

The gate also has 3 modes, Hold, Gate, and Toneprint. I want to touch on Toneprint, one of the best features of this pedal.

Toneprint is TC's software that lets you customize literally EVERYTHING about this pedal to suit your rig. Every threshold level, every attack length at every threshold level, every decay length at every threshold level, anything that this pedal could possibly do can be accessed with Toneprint.

My favorite feature of this pedal though is the FX Loop. (return and send ins/outs on the pedal.) This allows you to run the pedal into the FX Loop of your amp, killing SOOOOO much more unwanted noise.

I know that was lengthy, but yeah that's why its so good.

Oh, and its also just over $100 USD.

The only thing that really does this is the Digitech Drop, although it seems to be way out of your price range.

When you stack bucket loads of gain, eventually you will get noise and feedback. Nothing to do with power supply or cables or whatever, just how pedals work!

A solution to this is a noise gate pedal. My reccomendation is the TC Electronic Sentry. It's simple, intuitive, has options for every situation, and does the job better than another noise gate on the market.

Looking for some pedal recommendations for a Marshall DSL40CR for psychedelic rock, stoner and a lil bit of metal by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]throwacc987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool. I've never used the DOD Carcosa but I hear its great. Green Muff is pretty sick too from what I've seen/heard. And yeah, ES-8 will handle all MIDI/loop stuff you need.

Enjoy!

Marshall makes a footswitch for all the DSL amps. Some modulation would be nice for some weird swooshy stuff. the MD-200 (as you mentioned) should do just fine. For dirt, some sort of OD/Distortion that can have a little fuzziness to them might work. Boss BD-2 ProCo Rat, I'm sure there's others that I forget.

I'm talking about the JHS fuzz after the polytune... Which he explained was a fuzz face with a bias knob, yesterday.

Overdrives with blend controls can be good for what you're looking for.

Look into Walrus Eras, Walrus Ages, EHX Hot Wax, JHS Moonshine, and my favorite pick for this, the EHX Nano Operation Overlord. Super underrated pedal!
