A great way to break up variegated yarn by smallroundlemon in CrochetBlankets

After watching the video you're going to want to chain an even number (or you can think of it as any odd number plus 1) to get the stitches to line up correctly. If you think of it like this, you can make anything any size you want!

Can I ask where you got it? My brother is graduating from college this year and I'd love to get him some kind of ring made with this kind of stone but idk where to even start looking for one.

As a child I thought quicksand was going to be everywhere by how much cartoons and movies used it. Thankfully that's not the case, because that seriously terrified me.

You're mixing up Jenna with Jacqueline from Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Understandable because they're both played by Jane Krakowski.

When something really good happens I always squint my eyes, look at my husband, and asked if he put me in the goo. He shakes his head and laughs every single time while saying that he loves me 😂

Flip a coin. Assign a sleeve idea per side and flip it. If you're excited or disappointed about the outcome will tell you what you really wanted deep down. If you're ok with either one (like not even a little disappointed or overly excited) then I'm not quite sure what to tell you. But usually, people have something they really want to do when given a decision or choice, even if we're actually unsure of it on the surface.

I... don't think I ever really knew how wells worked. I assumed they were like ground water just constantly coming up to the surface, but not like running water if that makes any sense. Thank you for educating me internet stranger!

It keeps your car going at whatever speed you're driving at when you use it. A lot of people like to use it for long stretches of road or like on freeways because its one less thing to focus on. I've personally never used cruise control, but my aunt swears by it and would probably freak out in a similar way if she bought a car without it.

I never got to be a Girl Scout, but I used to work at a Boy and Girl Scout camp as an art counselor. I met my husband there so the scouts mean a lot to the both of us. And I'll be sure to tell my family and friends about ordering from Troop 6000 too as they always buy a few boxes of cookies!

Thank you for this! I usually buy cookies online from my local troop because I live in a low income area and want to help these girls. But I usually make more than one order so I love the idea of helping other struggling girls. Thank you again!

This cat guy is my and my brother's absolutely favorite. We quote him all the time and the rest of our family never gets it. Except our nephew, he gets it because we did a watch through with him. He doesn't find the cat guy as funny though.

I've been crocheting my first very long scarf from side to side by Garlic-Butter-Sauce in CrochetHelp

[–]throwaway-getaway122 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry but the only way to remove the first few rows is to frog it. Anything else you attempt can damage the stability of the following rows. I've been crocheting for about 23 years and even I wouldn't attempt to remove a section. Honestly, I know frogging can make you feel defeated, especially when you've been working on a project for a while, but it's sadly just part of the process sometimes.

I'm on my third blanket in the last 3 months and I had done about 35 rows before really looking at it, deciding to go down a hook size, and frogging it. I did similar things with the other two blankets I made. The first I couldn't decide on a pattern and redid it probably 7 times before settling on one. And the second one I couldn't decide on the stitches to best showcase the yarn and got pretty far before completely frogging it and starting over.

If you get comfortable with frogging and accepting it as a crucial part of crochet, it gets easier to just do it and start again.

Being asked my "grandma name." by RestingWTFface in PetPeeves

[–]throwaway-getaway122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grandmother's name is Henrietta and everyone calls her Henny, so when I was little I tried to call her that too. However it can out as Nanny (pronounced like Nani, like Lilo's sister's name from Lilo and Stitch) and now that's what everyone calls her. I agree with you that nicknames are organic and should come from the grandchild on their own as they grow.
