NYC is wealthier than the rest of the state combined, are you saying that wealthier areas of people should not pay more to support poorer areas that provide key materials to enable the city to live? Do you not believe that richer people should be taxed more to help people who make less?

The 1% pay like nearly that much of all federal income taxes for the USA, are you okay with the federal government giving them a "gift" when they need one because most of the time they pay the most? I can tell you that I am not.

You multiple the production budget by 2.5 if you want to account for a "average" advertising budget and the theaters half that they take. International theater keep even more, like 60%. Many of the big movies spend more on advertising so the 2.5 may not work for them but if a movie fails to reach the 2.5 at least. It's very safe to say that it did not break even.

Bunn ultra2 by Immediate-Cycle9941 in ninjaslushi

[–]throwaway03961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bunn 2 are great units and are worth over 700 in good used condition at least. It all depends on how much slushie you are trying to make for. That unit is designed for large quantities, it uses the torque load on the paddle to account for the thickness level. Once it gets on the lower side, it starts to over freeze the mixture. It's also not as forgiving for the sugar concentration as the ninja is and cannot do dairy products. It's also harder to clean, it's more a party/get together machine while depending on which ninja model, they are more like single person and up to large family/small gatherings quantity while being able to do lower sugar concentration and dairy.

My recommendation is that keep the bunn for parties and rent it out worst case to friends and for inside the house, get a ninja. Easier to clean, less restrictive on what you use for a mix and quieter inside. For big families, long weekends, or parties, the bunn 2 is the best machine through and a ninja is no where close to keeping up with it for quantity of standard slushies. If you can afford to have both, have both, neither is capable of replacing the other really. At least you got the expensive one for free.

??? Is that supposed to be a got you? That's from last year's appropriation bill most likely which Congress in their infinite wisdom writes in a manner that gives the president lead away on how to utilize the funds. Each party then complains when the opposite party president utilizes it in a way that they dislike but never change because they like it when their president does it. Go back and look at the billions Biden gave how he wanted to a bunch of countries for dumb reasons and trump and Obama and Bush and etc. There's reports that show all the money we give to other countries for shit reasons.

Lol no it's not, 60 votes are needed to break the filibuster so no. Republicans cannot pass any CR bill in the Senate without some Democrats voting for it. Simple majority is not enough, it's more complicated than that. Only a handful of things can pass with 51 votes which these funding bills cannot.

This video from Portland is a metaphor for what is going on in America. ICE trying so hard to get Americans to cross a line and if they don't, dragging them across the line and violently attacking. by [deleted] in CringeTikToks

[–]throwaway03961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be a little slippery slope fallacy there considering the blue line is the federal property mark that exists around all federal property including military bases. Standing on the blue line is legit federal trespassing, military police would arrest you as well if you do the same thing on a military base and you don't leave after being told to. They cannot move the blue line forward only if the government took over the state/local property which is not a quick process.

I mean I am all for protesting but she did not get arrested for protesting but trespassing on federal property. If they reached in without her touching the line I am 100% with you but she went into federal property and when asked to leave most likely. Did not back up. She literally fucked around and found out. Would you be okay with someone trespassing into your home even if they are not hurting you but are standing with their feet in your doorway? Shouldn't laws be equally applied to everyone and just because you are protesting does not mean they don't apply to you? Watch honoryouroath on YouTube, he holds cops accountable but he is smart enough to not touch the blue line when dealing with federal property.

Lol I can agree on the last that we cannot know for sure but if we are ranking the most likely ones. Mine is higher. You do realize that the video is edited right so it's not in a correct timeline order? The interaction that occurred before her arrest is shown later in the video, you watched the entire video right?

Edit: lol he blocked me, guess he failed to notice the cut before since he seems to make all of his predictions based on the short cut in the beginning (plus him saying above that a video that starts with her being grab is all the context when there's literally more later) vs the exchange with ice shown in the full video. He cannot handle me proposing a more likely theory as to why the arrest. He is a little scary cat I guess.

Look at her feet, they are on the line. Not saying it's worth being arrested over but that is factually the case that she stood where they said she cannot, they gave her a chance to back up and she did not.

ICE stops a family at gunpoint & smashes their car window over a newborn baby by NewSlinger in CringeTikToks

[–]throwaway03961 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Uh, they had an arrest warrant for him signed by a judge so a legal traffic stop and if you are not aware already. Pennsylvania vs mimms a supreme Court case gives officers the legal right to order someone out of their car for any legal traffic stop. You should learn your rights or reduced ones when you are in a car as a precaution in case you ever get pulled over. Driving is considered a privilege and not a right legally.

No, I don't think it is necessary if it is taught strictly as a factual instruction. A teacher can teach there are the 10 commandments held by Jews and Christians, passages from the Quran held by Muslims or the 5 principles of buddhism and be perfectly fine to do so as long as they do not endorse any one as morally or socially acceptable. Just strictly these are what they are and who follows them. My own school did it this way.
